Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Here's my take:

Resumption in July until September
Europa and Champs League to finish September

2020-2021 season to start in November with condensed no of games, around 30.
This would mean just playing some teams once.

I'd love this season to be declared null and void but it isn't going to happen.
The threat of law suits will be overwhelming.

How can their be law suits? if the Government prevents public gatherings over 50 people - which would include behind closed door football then the league simply cant get finished. Teams submitted squads in August and we had a transfer window in January but by the end of June some contracts are up and players and managers will be leaving. Do players out of contract have to wait until - god knows when to find another team? Do some teams soldier on with 16 players, do teams carry on without a coach. I get the dipper wankfest but I simply don't see a way to finish this season and awarding a title short of 38 games is a farce. People may not like it but this virus isn't going away there will be no more football this year in all probability - you cant have a 9 or 10 month break. Its over its just a case of the zealots getting their mind around reality. This evening the governments most optimistic scenario sees 250,000 deaths and demands on the NHS being 8 x present capacity... im afraid the dippers title aspirations wont resonate too far outside or Merseyside.

Nope we ain’t playing a league where you don’t play every team home and away.

Sky sports news wont really report on people dying from the virus unless it's a sports person.
But with every thing being about liverpool I think there are looking at it from the wrong end
If they dont look at this differently there want be any leagues to complete because I will say that at least half the teams across championship league one and two wont be in existence if they receive no financial help
Dont get me wrong it does look a bit harsh on liverpool but just be grateful with the position your in and look at teams not so fortunate
Liverpool will be back next season but how many other clubs will be

The pundit are brainless, they seem to not be factoring in that players are going to get the virus as with the rest of the team having to isolate

Rule C12 in the Premier League Rulebook is interesting...
C.12. The League Champions shall receive a trophy which it shall return to the Board in good order and condition not later than three weeks before its final League Match
of the next Season.

Players are going self isolate, train in their living room, do tactics with the coaching staff on Skype, drive themselves to games and play behind closed doors... but of course they can't shake hands - there is some bollocks being suggested.... The media have actually gone down in my estimation this week and I honestly didn't think that was possible.

I doubt there will be any competitive football till NEXT August when a vaccine may have been available for a few months. Maybe this time next year if we're really lucky.
Each team brings 35+ people to each game so their isnt a chance of a game not breaking the 50 limit - which will be universally in force by then.

We could revert to a modern version of the Football Pools Panel (I remember them during the winter of 1963). They reckon that today's technology gives impressive accuracy.
Obviously it will give the PL to Liverpuddle but I do recall a prediction that we would win the CL. Not a bad deal considering LP would have won and we only might have.

And the gobbling on the pitch?
Not a chance
