Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I doubt there will be any competitive football till NEXT August when a vaccine may have been available for a few months. Maybe this time next year if we're really lucky.
Each team brings 35+ people to each game so their isnt a chance of a game not breaking the 50 limit - which will be universally in force by then.

Pure speculation on your part.
Nobody has a clue, we can all play with dates as much as we can but nobody knows.

I think it should be down to the players, if they don't want to risk playing then they don't play, they shouldn't be made to play against their will.
Never mind the FA saying your going to play on such and such a date, it's not up to them it's up to the players to decide then they want to resume playing

We could revert to a modern version of the Football Pools Panel (I remember them during the winter of 1963). They reckon that today's technology gives impressive accuracy.
Obviously it will give the PL to Liverpuddle but I do recall a prediction that we would win the CL. Not a bad deal considering LP would have won and we only might have.

The FA will probably form a panel of Danny Murphy, Lawro and Kelly Cates.

I've thought about this a fair amount, and I can safely conclude that the only sensible outcome is for the season to carry on as per normal, have everyone get sick/die, destroy the country as we know it, but at least Liverpool can win the league.

It's the only way.

A very pragmatic approach... most media outlets will be overjoyed...

Manchester City players have been training at home over the weekend, while the club are remaining tight-lipped regarding whether they will be training together as usual

Leeds, West Brom, Fulham, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston held a secret emergency meeting yesterday to discuss their position. A further follow-up meeting, via conference call and involving all 24 Championship clubs, will be held today.

The top six clubs in the Sky Bet Championship are ready to launch a legal challenge against their Premier League counterparts if they try to declare this season null and void and deny them three promotion places.

The clubs are “seething” about some of the statements coming from certain Premier League clubs calling for the season to be scrapped. The Championship’s top six want the season to be completed, even if it means delaying the start of next season

Despite the Premier League meeting on Thursday, they cannot come to a quick/definite decision as no-one knows the full extent of the virus. Premier League meetings may drag into next week and they may resist putting a timescale on the return of the league.

UEFA's determination to finish this season's Champions League and Europa League could see International football scrapped for 12 months, with the postponement of EURO 2020 and the abandonment of the Nations Leagu

A source at UEFA has insisted that "every idea will be listened to" at tomorrow's meeting and that EURO2020 moving back was a certainty

BREAKING: The FA has announced it is "advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future."

Sports broadcasters will hold crisis meetings today to discuss how they are going to fill their schedules over the coming weeks and possibly months. Sky and BT currently have no plans to reduce subscription fees, as the season has not been cancelled.

Customers may end up watching all the matches they have paid for at some stage. Should the season be called off, that situation may change

So if a world class middle distance runner is a lap in front of everyone but suddenly pulls up and retires from the race, a race which he was streets ahead in stamina, distance and ability and then due to unforseen circumstances the race got abandoned would they then say the guy who was in front has won the race?

Would they fuck!

It either gets replayed or it's a null and void result.

Saying these rats should be handed the title shows the desperation from Liverpool*, their fans and the arseholes in the media.

If only they had taken the carabou cup seriously.

I still think we can win the league when it starts again
And as long as u think that they cannot give those ****s the trophy
