Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Another idiot reporter trying to sell news papers or get clicks online, making things up, they dont know that's the truth. The real issue is though that the football authorities are keeping all options open, hoping to get the season completed with no information to the public it gives the media carte-blanche The result is fans, and the public, are getting pissed off and see it as lack of respect this is doing untold damage to football

PL clubs are advising players to: - Scale back home training regimes until May 4 - Expect group training by the end of May - Cancel plans to leave the UK during what is effectively their ‘off season’ - Be ready to resume football ‘activities’ at 48 hours’ notice

Clubs have sent their players new workouts which are less intense, to maintain a ‘base level of fitness’ - aimed at increasing their fitness levels from May 5 onwards.

What about those who are in their home countries?

What about players who's contracts expire at the end of june?
Maybe they got plans and dont want to extend the season?

Eds, have you yet not come to realize that the one and only thing that both the FA AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE are interested in, is to make sure that LIVARPOOL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE NO MATTER WHAT. There can be well over 100,000 deaths A MONTH from this coronavirus, but hey we have finally made sure that LIVARPOOL HAVE WON THEIR 1STPREMIER LEAGUE TITLE.

All football supporters are more worried about their family and friends staying alive amid this coronavirus pandemic. Then whoever wins or gets relegated from their respective divisions. Well except for the boards of two football bodies, those being the FA AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE. Like I said earlier on today, the PFA NEEDS TO GET A BACKBONE. The backbone I am talking about, is that they will not be putting any footballers lives in jeopardy by playing football, while this pandemic is still largely out of control.

I for one and a lot of my friends will not be stepping inside a football stadium until this coronavirus is completely eradicated. With at least 12-18 months before they can come up with a antidote for this virus. I don't see why the FA AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE, are so obsessed with giving the PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE TO LIVARPOOL. To me it seems that they are willing to sacrifice the lives of players from the PREMIER LEAGUE ALONG WITH THEIR COACHING AND MEDICAL STAFF. JUST TO GIVE LIVARPOOL THEIR 1ST TITLE.

Does anybody disagree with what I have said. To me all those who have lost their lives matter. I for one hope that the GOVERNMENT says that there will be another 6 weeks of a total lockdown. Also that there can be no sporting activities in any stadiums until the beginning of September at the earliest. Maybe just maybe that will focus the minds of the football bodies that any chance of playing football in June can now be put on the back burner.
Agree 100%

There was an employment lawyer the other day saying the clubs can't force these contract extensions
That's what I mean mate....if a player turns round and says "nah, fuck it,I'm gone 1st july......nowt they can do about it.
Might even,or probably will get players holding clubs to ransom, imo.
