Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

By a fan, and you believe it, fair enough. Reality is we have no idea which players are throwing hisses, but some just assume

I suggest you go look online, its been reported online about Arsenal players in particular.

But if something specific was told to me by my brother about his own club he has a keen interest in?

Of course I would take his side on information given to me rather than someone online.

Did you deliberately misunderstand my post? I said they could be donating directly themselves while still paying all taxes. City themselves are covering all staff costs, what other clubs do is their lookout.

Players donating directly doesn’t help the clubs. The clubs are still paying them full whack(less bonuses) with little or no money coming in

Clubs need players to take a % cut because of not the clubs will go bust

It's a joke to be honest, people are really quick to defend them. Makes me sick that a footballer is fucking fighting tooth and nail to keep his 100k a week, but other people who earn less than that in a year are taking wage cuts without arguing.

they were given a contract. It’s up to the person who gave it to be full damn sure they can honour it come hell or high water.

It’s not a footballers fault people have shitty t&c’s and work for crap employers.

stop looking at them as a problem when the problem has nothing to do with them.

You would’ve blame someone for not being able to pay the mortgage if they got made redundant. That is essentially what is happening here

You want me to look online and follow up with you wouldn't believe it over your brother. Is he intimate with the clubs financial director and team. Everyone is speculating, including me as we have no idea who is doing what

I agree. It’s making the premier league look awful. Players arguing about a 12% cut to a wage of about 150,000 a week.... sickening tbh

its shown the players and clubs in their true light. Money obsessed and greedy.the public can see that now

BBC report today contains the following:

"Uefa is working to plans that would see the Champions League final end the 2019-20 season on 29 August.European football's governing body will meet on 23 April for more discussions about how to complete a campaign which has been disrupted by coronavirus. It is likely one decision will be to agree that leagues could finish early, although only with Uefa's approval. But the idea is still to finish the season as a whole at the end of August, with all outstanding games played. That would mean the Champions League final taking place in Istanbul on 29 August, with the Europa League final in Gdansk three days earlier."

So EUFA are in control of the PL are they?
