Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

There is no way the Government will allow football behind closed doors.
Here is why.
So they let 50 players and staff travel to a ground to play a game where social distancing is impossible.

Then I decide if that is OK then why can't I drive 50 miles alone in my car to go and do a night session of Sea Fishing on a secluded beach where there is not a living soul within ten miles of me?

The lock down only works because the vast majority of the population are at present willing to abide by the rules.
If the greed of the Professional game is allowed to win the Government risk loosing the compliance of the population.
If 10000 people decided tomorrow to protest, in any City in the Country, that they had had enough of this lock down there is nothing the police or Authorities could do.

Whilst I am not advocating doing any of this I am sure lots of people would loose faith in what the Government are trying to do.

I have been thinking the same , that if football can start again ignoring the 2 meter rule I can see others saying sod that I want to meet up with my mates and have a 'party'. I cant see how you can have one rule for professional football and one rule for us. Partners who live apart cant see each other but 22 sweaty players can spit and pull each others shirts its utter bollocks.

I just can't see any way back from football this year, while social distancing is being demanded football can not be played it's as simple as that.

Sky ramping up their propaganda to get the season restarted. Arguing it will be good for morale.

Full 7 mins of the Sky News bulletin devoted to why the PL should restart including an interview with Spit the Scouser.

Expect *** *** and other Murdoch shitrags to follow suit.

significantly those who will be making the decisions(SAGE) won't be watching thankfully

And of course because we are English and refined there will be nothing like PSG's behind closed doors game in March.

If they start football behind closed doors that's it I'm out with me mates,
Fuck this social distancing
This is the trouble,if the gov let football or rugby or anything like that come back even behind closed doors then the public will say fuck the lockdown,we can all go out again, can't blame them, sport represents what was normal life just a few weeks ago, going down the pub or having mates round for a beer to watch it on telly goes with watching sport,it would impossible to keep large parts of the public under control

We will know in about 3 weeks i supposs

If there's any justice people will get sick of these greedy bastards and cancel their Sky subscriptions and bankrupt their business model

Was thinking say for instance with the talk of free to air games,if they did restart, how would this work if people have sky and bt subscriptions, would they be reimbursed..

I would imagine sky/bt would have all the important games like the top 6 plus any relegation battles and bbc / itv will get the rest.
