Costel Pantilimon

I blame Joe Hart for that mistake when Lescott played the ball past him and out for a corner.

Another example of his poor decision making, why did he rush out towards Lescott, getting so close he couldn't pass it to him safely?
He didn't "rush" out, he was already out a bit, it was just poor communication between both, and Lescott played the ball to the best place, well wide of the post.

If that's all you blame him for then he must have had a decent game

Yeah he had a decent game but I wish he would improve his decision making

I'm sure that he'll take your opinion on board.

Apologies if there's already a thread on him but I can't see one in the first few pages of the forum. Just think he deserves his own thread. I think so far he's acquitted himself very well. There's a hell of a lot of pressure and a lot of eyes on him because of the fact he's taken Joe's place. He seems calm and unflappable and on performances so far deserves to keep his place as first choice keeper.

He's done really well. But I've a feeling that might be his last game until Leicester in three weeks. If that's true it will be harsh on the lad but the manager has a difficult balancing act.

That's life that's football for you. Joe's served his punishment for his cock ups its time to move on and put him back where he belongs. Thanks Costel good job!!

Same opinion...Joe needed a kick up the backside but I think he's the better keeper of the two - time to put him back in for the PL games.

I am gonna go ahead and disagree. Until Pants shows he is not up to the job, he keeps the #1 spot.

Does Pellegrini really rate Pantz, though? There isn't any contract extension and he seemed a bit 'meh' when talking about it, and didn't say the club is trying to keep him either...

Why didn't we get a new gk in the last summer, even though Pantz explicitly said he wanted to go? And I'm sure he already has club that want him that he can say things like that with such certainty. No gk wanted to join city?

If we get new gk in january (don't think we would though) can he play in CL?

I love Pantz but if he's leaving anyway I hope Joe is back as 1st choice soon..

Unless we're getting Neuer in the summer (lol).

I genuinely believe that Costel is very bit as good as Joe and should stay until he makes mistakes that would be grounds for dropping him. Why wouldn't we?

Whether Pants is leaving at the end of the year or not is irrelevant. If he is the better choice right now, he should stay #1. There would be a whole summer to determine how we want to proceed after the season. As for Whether Pelegrini rates Pants? We'll clearly enough to start him over England's #1. I'd say that is enough of a rating. And as long as Pants continues to be solid, he should continue to start.

Lord knows Pel kept Joe on long after he was sucking, so the least he could do would be to at least play Pants until he messes up. That is only fair. The irrational arguments for the reinstatement of Hart is a little of putting.
