Could Bony become the new Goat ?

Think the Bony criticism is a little exaggerated. He clearly is a good player- a bad player doesn't top BPL scoring charts for the year of 2014- who went downhill after his injury around Christmas, much like Sterling. He hasn't been great at City but got something like 14 goals and 5 assists last season which, for a backup striker (who was even third choice towards the end) is not bad at all. Best in the league for a non first-choice, in fact. And yes, I know he got a lot more game time than most because of Aguero's injuries but he has contributed. Arguably without him we wouldn't have topped the CL group and would've swapped places with Juventus and drawn Bayern in the round of 16, and that probably would've been the end of that. He isn't a player who suits City or is at the level we need, but there is a good player in there somewhere. He's also a nice guy and does care about the team. Personally I hope he goes to Everton or West Ham, or back to Swansea and does well next season- as long as he doesn't score against us of course.

I've always seen Bony as being an ideal man for Pep's style, specifically with his third and fourth year at Barcelona. He hasn't exactly been able to show his prowess under Manuel, but he could really thrive under Pep.

Remember his time at Swansea, and maybe some people will give him a chance. We will see a lot more service coming in from the wings under Pep, we've seen it at Barca and Bayern, I think that is a given. Bony was great as a Target Man, but his role was changed by Pellers and in my opinion that is why he hasn't shown the same form.
interesting post.

Yes he could in fact I think it's Testament to Pep and how stupid it is that Pellegrini didn't get more out of him. I think peps going to give all players and equal chance even kolarov. Whether they prove themselves is another thing entirely, but it is important to give them all a chance, rather than just come in and chop players left right and centre like some have suggested. .. is not fifa manager ffs.

Kolorov. You have to be kidding. After last seasons shambolic efforts I really hope not.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at the thought of Bony and Kolarov being here next season.

Wilfried Bony is a frickin enigma to me. He's big, strong, powerful and can do crazy elasticos and juggling tricks. And as we all have heard at least 300 times...he lead the league in scoring in 2014.

BUT...

When you think about it "pragmatically" (the Chairman's favorite word) he hasn't been good for anything more than a tap in since he's been with us. He didn't suit our style of play under Pell, hopefully Pep can get more out of him. I'd like to see him get a chance under Pep, if he's no good sell him in January

The goat came good after about a dozen games

Bony has been here a season and a half and is getting worse every time he drags his sorry lardy Arse on the pitch
