For the amount of winter days when it snows in Manchester it’s not worth the heavy investment in equipment to keep the airport open, I’ve sat in airport ops meetings discussing this. Other airport in the USA, Canada, Scandinavia etc have plenty of snow so it’s worth their while “tooling up”

I see Manchester Airport has closed both runways (temporarily) due to heavy snowfall, what chance do we give the game being called off later tonight for the same reason?

Surely not, as where this game would be reorganized to again I've no idea.

This country is a joke with snow

I used to spend a fair bit of time in Russia in winter and flying out from there every few weeks. They just got on with it. Sort out the runway,De-ice the wings and get the flights going. Same as in South Korea where my missus is from, most winters are about -10°c
or colder. When we’re there in winter, you just get on with it, as they do with flights

A little bit of snow or ice in England and they shite themselves

I agree entirely, but it would seem they have no investment or planning to deal for any snow whatsoever no matter how little falls, if they can't deal with 4cm?

Up in Oldham which will be about 2 or 3 degrees colder than the Etihad there is about 1mm of snow and the temp is above freezing. Unless there is a sudden deterioration I'd say there's zero possibility of it being off

Snows about every 3 to 5 years for a couple of days. It's usually melted within a few hours. There'd be a massive outcry if there were millions of pounds worth of snow plows etc. sitting around doing nothing
