Could we see a crazy final table at the end of the year?

I think it will settle down to more predictable results by match day 6. Good to see Leeds hump Chelsea though I have to say. I can’t remember many forwards doing us like St Maximin yesterday. Hope he keeps that up vs our rivals.
He had his Traore moment against us, can’t believe we let him constantly come inside like he did.

we looked frightened of his power and pace. John Boy looked way off it which is perhaps explainable as he has hardly played. Ake looks our best defender just now and I don't expect to see him back for a few weeks based on his demeanour when he came off. I thought they played us well exploiting the space where fullbacks normally live. St. Maximin was able to pick up the ball in space and really run.

It wont do us any harm to get a fright like that as we have rarely been out of second gear in the first two games. I liked the way Haaland played too, much greater integration with Gundo, Bernie and Kev. Phil needs to learn when to pass and when to shoot though. Thats two in two games.

I remember a few years ago when Everton were tipped to be the new Leicester, James Rodriguez was on fire, Liverpool lost 7-2 to Villa and City lost 5-2 at home to Leicester. Not getting carried away yet.

From what I have seen so far, Arsenal have a sniff and that would be a shock. They haven’t played anyone yet though so too early to tell but they have looked good.

Brighton in top 4 and go on to win Champions League In 2022/23.
They beat us in the Final. Pep’s tweaks again……
UEFA CL is rarely won by proper champions.
If only. I will settle for a top 6 spot and a chance to play in Europe next season. But above all just keep Potter.

People need to calm down, we’re three games in.

Even with the World Cup, things will settle down.

We’ll be top 3 in May, so will the Scousers.

The likelihood is one of us will win it, probably us.

I'm a great believer in Shankly's doctrine that the table means nothing until 10 games have been played.

The random factor this year is the WC in the middle of the season. As this is unprecedented, no one can say what the impact will be. However, certain players will be getting a nice rest, while others will be running their balls off in Qatar. It would be surprising if such random factors had no impact at all.
