Could Yaya be under threat??

Rodwell tries, Yaya doesn't at times, he needs a massive kick up the arse!! I'd like to see Yaya sitting on the bench just the motivation he needs ... .....

i wonder where rodwell will fit in ??? tbh can see him leaving maybe next year as he will not play that much.
Hope not, when the lads been fit he's looked good, and full of energy. Couple of hiccups in his first couple of outings but I honestly hope he stays fit, think he's capable of giving any box to boxer a run for their place in our side.

because that would make sense after giving him a new contract

contracts mean nothing. if a players wants to leave they will

He doesn't want to leave though. That's why he signed a new deal.

Anyway, I thought this thread was about Yaya being pushed out because of Fernandinho, rather than walking out?

As has been stated. We were in desperate need of midfield options. What with nobody good enough to fill the void of Yaya, who needs to be rested during next season, which Mancini never did.

All part of the intriguing and interesting angles and sub plots in acquiring a new manager. The more pertinent question however is how Pellegrini intends to utilize ya ya e.g free role, central mid, def mid, attacking mid, supporting striker as that will impact on the general set up of the team.

But don't kid yourself, Ya ya is still a main threat and our best player and he is in no kind of threat in losing his place but what you can anticipate is the reality of him not playing all the games as he did during Mancini's tenure.

I do agree that he has to wake up next season on the pitch, play with more energy and at least pretend to be interested.

Some good replies.
I like a lot think that he will rise to the task. Hopefully look fitter as well due to being able to be rested on occasions. The players state he his one of the worst trainers but we have all seen the impact he can have when he puts his mind to it.
For me the BEST pairing in midfield has been Yaya and Barry due to they both pass then move to receive it back in that next bit of space. What will be interesting with the new signings will be how we set up and hopefully a joy for us all to watch is the pace in which we move forward. This will free up players to express themselves more like Silva, Nasri, Jesus and Aguero due to they won't be playing tippy tapperty around the box.

Could Yaya's place as 100% plays if fit under threat??
Everyone saying Barry, Garcia,Rodwell and Nasri place under threat, yet it is Yaya who slows the pace down a lot of the time. He hasn't been that driving force from midfield this past season.
We are bulking the midfield out which is great and hopefully Isco still to come along as Cavanhi and a couple of cover defenders and keeper.
This is just a thought, we look to be building a quick mobile midfield.

I think it'll be Barry and Garcia who should be looking over their shoulders ....

i think Pellegrini will see more value in Yaya and Milner

hard to say about Rodwell

competition keeps players on their toes, its healthy, how many times were players just bone idle last season, not being funny but yaya didnt have any competition to spk off and tbh at times he was a lazy sod.

Surely Garcia then Barry have to be ahead of Rodwell in the exit queue. He's young, English, talented and has a great attitude.

Barry won't see as much game time and I can see Garcia leaving if anyone wants him.

there were times last season that he looked knackered but injuries to others didnt give bobby much option but to play him.He will never be under threat but a bit of rotation wouldnt do him any harm
