Cover versions you think were better than the originals

Cracklin' Rosie by Shane McGowan and the Popes.
Sweet Jane by Cowboy Junkies
Running Up That Hill by Placebo
Don't Fall Apart on Me Tonight by Chrissie Hynde
Positively 4th Street by Bryan Ferry
Here Comes The Sun by Richie Havens
I Shall Be Released by Wilco, Fleet Foxes
Fourth Time Around by Yo La Tengo
Drifters Escape by Patti Smith

Not a Weller fangirl but I just love this.

This is not as good as the original but I like it

Not a bad version version of Wishing on a Star but won’t beat Rose Royce (Gwen Dickey’s voice especially) and as for Thinking of You, sorry, I think he’s killed it.

Shakin Steves’s version of Green Door is the best version. It’s better than the original, Frankie Vaughan or the Cramps. Don’t believe me? Just listen. :)
