COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I think it would be helpful if the government released a comprehensive list of the measures that the public need to take with no if's, buts or maybe's. They could add links to the forms business need to fill in to apply for the help being offered for example. The media could up their game as well, I don't need Vanessa Feltz or Stanley Johnsons advice about the virus they should be hammering home the facts that the government have released and explaining them sensibly. While many people may have a decent understanding of the virus many are getting more confused which I think adds to the panic.

Idris Elba has had it so it must be OK for everyone else, in fact this is the new thing to talk about if you're a sleb, it puts you on the map as someone has 'been there bought the t shirt'.

First, you’ve not pointed out where I have belittled anyone, so I think it is fair to say your original assertion was not accurate.

Second, I didn’t say he couldn’t post however he liked, I was indicating why I thought his post was not needed, misguided and unhelpful. Which is my right based on your stance.

You seem to just dislike my posts in here given your previous posts about and to me, to be honest, and there’s not much I can do about that other than challenge your inaccurate statements directly via civil discourse, as I am now.
Is it possible the complaint occurs when you correctly have to moderate rather than post a normal opinion?
I have often thought that there should be some sort of special heading when that occurs to prevent misunderstandings.
By the way please continue posting in your own special way, we all value your contributions Seb.

The government will tomorrow air its first TV adverts as part of the public awareness campaign on the coronavirus pandemic.

The adverts are a ramping up of ministers' efforts to inform Britons about how they should respond to coronavirus.

They build upon existing adverts already on radio, online and on billboards.

In the 40-second TV adverts, England's chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty explains the government's latest advice for those who suspect they might be infected

Hope it is a bit more forceful, the time for being polite with the public is over

Could be the case at times. I am not sure if it is with @Indaparkside — he would have to say. But it is something I can pass on to Ric to see if it makes sense.

It is difficult, as I do try to do most of my moderation via engagement rather than formal action, so I don’t want to lose that route with a special heading that makes one of my posts seem more serious than it actually usually is, if that makes any sense.

And thanks, mate — I’ll assume “special” is a good thing (though Inda and a few others would likely disagree). ;-)

Inda — to avoid further monopolising the thread, I am happy to discuss your concerns via PM if you feel that would be helpful.
