COVID-19 — Coronavirus

These scans won't be being used to diagnose coronavirus, the findings are very non-specific and a whole host of lung pathology looks like that.

The guidance is that, currently, the scans play no role in diagnosis, and are used to exclude other pathology. (Although worth noting there are daily updates on this).

In China they used CT as a diagnosis tool when they ran out of testing kits, however this won't have been a very specific method for diagnosis of the virus, and isn't used in the UK.
Yes,i just thought they were interesting,as you say they won't be used to diagnose anyone, although

There were extensive white patches in her chest scan and a "reversed halo sign" was observed in the left upper lobe, the medical journal Radiology reported.

A recent study of more than 1,000 patients, published in Radiology, found that chest CT scans were better than lab testing at diagnosing coronavirus at an early stage.

The researchers concluded that CT scans should be the primary screening method

In the US, doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City were the first in America to analyse CT scans of Covid-19 sufferers.

The doctors said they identified specific patterns in the lungs of dozens of patients who were hospitalised in China at the height of the epidemic there.

The ground glass opacities, or patches, became more dense over time, and the patterns were similar to those found in patients who contracted SARS or MERS

Great news tonight, toilet rolls found at Sainsbury's...life's smiling...unfortunately...my darling has told me she's sharing my existence 24/7 x 84 ... deeeelightful :-/ 'It's life Renner...but certainly not as I know it!' I did say that I hadn't up for this, and she just laughed!

Guess it depends what you mean by interesting, feels a little like scaremongering to me; showing people images that naturally they won't be able to interpret then claiming the damage is "terrifying" doesn't seem all that helpful. (The media, not yourself of course).

It will be interesting to see whether the guidance changes though, it's tough to keep up with at the moment as every day new recommendations and pathways are put in place.

All week I’ve been concerned, stay in for 12 weeks they say, who’s fucking paying me,
WOW hats fuckin off, that’s how to govern that’s how to support, that’s how to rally a nation, figure head Boris, closing down stuff then unlike trump hands the reigns to his reliables to blow my mind.
I sincerely have to say what a fuckin government.
I live in Ireland, Where I work we are not doing it week by week and see what happens, It's horrible. Luckily enough the work is still coming but slowing down vastly plus my fellow workers dont feel safe going onto sites surrounded by people which is easy to see why. If I'm out of work I get €203 a week off the government for 6 weeks which will see me lose my home with my missus and two kids my mind in overdrive everyday. Hope your job still going mate.

Yes, it’s a nice drink, for some reason it was the only dark beer left in the shelves. Usually nobody I know likes dark beers/ales/stouts like I do.

I’m twelve cans in now so I think it’s time for bed!
