Listen to what the drs on the front line are telling you,people they would normally be able to save won 't be because of the shortage in beds and equipement,i don't think you are understanding how stretched the nhs is in a normal winter,then add all of the virus patients on top,it is so naive to think that difficult decisions are not 10 fold now,i know yoy are a stats man but watch the progs on the bbc following,the ambulance service,many progs following different hospitals ,including the juggling of beds and patients in NORMAL times,i was part of it for 20yrs,i know what being part of a team is like and decisions that have to made,bed and staff shortages go back decades

Karen, if you had a career based in the medical industry and still believe in anecdotal evidence over the facts then you are beyond help.

The entire concept of modern science is based on rejecting anecdotes because they do not tell the true story.

The reason the worlds response to this is being dictated by mathematicians and statistical models and not what front line doctors say after their shift is because front line anecdotes mean fuck all if you're talking about a regional, national or international picture.

Just went for a walk around dove stones reservoir, most people in couples or with their kids, keeping safe distance from each other and seemingly respecting the social distancing rules then suddenly we see a group of around 18-20 people all mingling with each other done up like they were on a night out!!

If it got there early doors and went undetected, you can see why the numbers would be big. The populace likely frequent the same small amount of places. Small pubs, small shops, small cafés...

Rarely watch the UK news, but happened to catch someone being interviewed in a pub last night. He was only really there to 'support his local'. Sometimes it's the smaller sacrifices that go overlooked...

we have almost identical restrictions here, except that those between 18-65 can move freely until tonight or tomorrow when nobody could go out from 20h to 05h. sub-18 and over-65 are completely banned of going out of home.

How are the over 65's going to get food? If it is anything like here there is very little on the shelves so getting a decent amount to last isn't an option. The sub 18's is an interesting one. All our schools are closed here and the kids are certainly not staying indoors.
