I think that money needs to get to the NHS soon if the front line staff are being told to re-use PPE thus weekend!

So first they get blamed for using too much, they have been badly let down

Doctors and nurses have been advised to reuse pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) ahead of expected shortages this weekend - even if they are labelled as single-use.
The Department of Health has published advice for all NHS workers in light of impending supply issues, which the government has blamed on enormous worldwide demand for items such as masks and gowns

Do you think they have been "badly let down"?

Natural World, BBC2 now - there’s a woman with wild Pangolins in her house and she’s carrying them around on her shoulder

Picking fruit is not easy and is quite a skill to do properly and quickly enough to meet demand. Having experienced fruit pickers is more beneficial to mass producers.

There will still be many farms who take up the offers from many British novice applicants and can use them well, if they are a farm who don’t need to supply in large quantities.
In Spain the fruit harvest is a once a year event particularly citrous fruits.

Other crops mean as many as 4 crops per season can be achieved so a full time job to lay irrigation tubes plough, plant then harvest. So not seasonal.

Incidentally Spain does not use EU labour but North African as cheap labour. In fact our local doctors which does blood tests just on wednesdays has normally 5 or 6 young Senegal person starting life working in Spain

The government has 100,000+ NBC suits.
Just the suits (not the masks or gloves) are better than gowns and can be cleaned and reused.
Why have these not been deployed just in case?
Our bureaucracy is just fucking useless.

Binmen are a real essential service at the moment - anyone know the best way to go about giving them a tip ? Doesn’t seem any real nationwide appeal to do this - was thinking just running out with fiver/tenner when I see them coming round. But not sure what the etiquette is.

Tape it to the front of your bin and hope it doesn’t get nicked before they see it.

Had a look at the farm picking jobs available and the pay is poor and any overtime paid is on a flat rate, there's also the accommodation to be paid out of any wages, I'd rather we all paid a bit more for our fruit and veg so that the pickers could get a better wage.

No wonder they are shipping planeloads of Romanians over.
If this is true it should not be happening. We can train our own people to pick fruit. We have a minimum wage structure in place. If it adds a few pence to fruit the government should subsidise it.
No risk of outside infections.
British people back to work.
No brainer

So they know what kills the virus?
I will refine my reply to say that there is no evidence that it's transmitted by blood products. Please check out their information literature.
Will be going to my appointment in May. Hopefully they will have the necessary social distancing in place.
