Why dont people get it ? My missus just showed me a text from her mum (it's her birthday) my missus brother and wife lives with her. The grand daughter and her friend( 6 yrs olds) made her some cup cakes.

I just looked at my missus and said what was the daughter's friend doing in their house ?

Stay in your own home its not rocket science

It's denial.

I get the points you're trying to make @domalino, but if people are mortified over 400 deaths, then effectively telling them to get used it and saying 20,000 is a good goal isn't exactly going to make anyone feel better is it? Especially getting frustrated when clearly upset people don't enjoy hearing it. You seem a lovely, intelligent lad, but you're being a little tone 'death' here.

Hearing that tens of thousands of deaths, while spending several months away from loved ones, whilst all the time locked in a house, with less money than before, while suffering severe anxiety that they or their loved ones may pass, is actually quite a good goal, is not *ever* going to reassure the vast majority - even if it is logical. So maybe try to understand that.

What you're saying is right, technically, but people have a damn good reason to not want to hear that that is good right now. People want to hear actual good news (better treatments etc), not *only* tens of thousands may die! It's not fair of you to expect people to go 'okay, that's good then!' mate. I actually know you mean well too. Just saying as its something to consider, for many others on here too.

Just tried on line shopping again every supermarket you can think of not a fucking hope for weeks and weeks

Frustrating isnt it. Asda only have dates for the next fortnight on their website, all obviously sold out, they release the following days slots at about midnight at which point the system crashes for half an hour and by the time it clears the ones released have all gone.

Doctor who gave tour to Putin tests positive

A doctor who gave Russian President Vladimir Putin a tour of Moscow's main coronavirus hospital has tested positive.

Mr Putin, 67, visited the Kommunarka hospital last Tuesday, where he chatted to Dr Denis Protsenko - and neither man was wearing protective equipment during their conversation.

The Kremlin has said Mr Putin is regularly being tested for the disease and so far "everything is okay

My Mrs is tearing her hair out with frustration at the endless dickheads on various phone-ins asking idiotic questions, to which every answer is (or should be) "Stay at home you think ****".

How hard can it be for people to get their heads around this????

Unfortunately a selfish thick moron will always be a selfish thick moron whatever the crisis. A guy near me is out with his two kids everyday, kicking a football, riding on bikes, it's like an extended holiday for them. He has a decent sized front and back garden but oh no he has to be out and about. They might be the same family but anyone coming into contact with them isn't, increasing the risk for them and the family. Unless one of these idiot's get it they will never comply.

As they’ve been saying, it’s gonna get worse in the short term. There’s that 4000 bed hospital in the east end with no one in it yet...

Air travel and public transport will have to go soon.
