Particularly as there will be little or no unit cost to the provider of any incremental business. Virtually all of that £10k will be pure profit. No-one could reasonably expect a company not to cover its costs, but profit is an entirely different proposition.

Your probably right,I was also wondering if they are supplying cams/beds for families to keep in contact with their loved ones seeing they've cant access icu.

Yep I used to be one of those people who said that. Then I properly had it a couple of years ago. Not a pleasant experience as you say. I think at one stage I slept for about 40 hours in 48. And it wasnt nice restful sleep either!

They say that if you have the flu and see a tenner on the floor in front of you you cannot be arsed to pick it up you feel so shit. I've had flu in the past once and I would tend to agree with that.goodness only knows how corona virus compares and hopefully we don't have to find out

Our daughter works at a local farm shop that incorporates a butchers and a cafe. The cafe closed as requested but the manager of the shop offered to keep some of the waiting staff on in the shop/butchers helping out. All but one turned him down and went for the 80%. After a few days these staff started to say, on a chat line they had set up, that they were all bored. The manager asked if they could come in and do odd jobs to help keep the place running (the butchery is only open for phone/online orders and boxes are brought out at a set time to your car) they all said they would only come in if they got overtime and it was cash in hand. The manager is very disappointed as he, and the few staff remaining, are working very hard to keep the business afloat. If it were me in charge I would be looking for new staff when I reopened fully.

My wife is manager at a farm shop, cafe is closed but cafe staff are helping out in shop. Going to be an absolute bumper year for them after initially fearing losing jobs etc
