If you are not shocked that we are getting these numbers again then i dont know what to say , they are someones loved ones , people are numb to that fact

As some people are not capable of puting off dec 25th expect some shocking numbers in january , it is one fucking day

you can pretend to live in shock at every announcement of the death toll but in the real world everyone has been accustomed to the figures - and they are in line with the infection rate a couple of weeks ago. So it’s no surprise at all.
Most people I know barely follow the covid news anymore.

tragic, awful, depressing. Yes.

‘wow’ ‘shocked’. Nope

Stats will have determined it to be more than insignificant.

Work doesn't stop here, efficacy data will be continuously collected for years to come.

No, I know, but in terms of giving it to millions based on the results of 170 people, that was my question around the confidence that that it representative. If they said they'd done challenge trials on 5/10,000 of those volunteers and had a 8:162 ratio that would come across as much more representative.

Choose your own word then or better still stop quoting me with digs

England hospital deaths 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

174 / 50 NW v 302 / 93 NW v 361 / 118 NW v 282 / 98 NW today

62 were from NE/Yorks and 52 Midlands

To be 20 lower than 2 weeks ago on the usually highest day of the week for deaths due to the weekend catch up effect is big news.

Of the NW deaths above reported today by far the largest contributions were 35 from Pennine hospital area and 14 East Lancashire - consistent with the Oldham and Blackburn hotspots over past weeks. Both happily trending well down in cases and deaths from here will inevitably reduce in coming weeks because of that.

You heartless cockney ....!

I actually like you and probably agree but - just fancied saying that. I actually said it out loud in a Ray Winston accent (whilst having a piss (no handed) in a urinal (on site) and holding my phone) as well just so you can picture the full scene.

The NW is now the FOURTH worst region based on the case numbers per 100,000 population (a regional Pop Score in effect) - up to 12 Nov where the Gov data of cases goes up to (always 5 days behind to allow for using cases assigned to exact date not date of report).

Yorks and Humber is top with a Pop of 444 (falling slightly), then the NE at 423 (up 23% in week), then West Midlands 363 (up nearly 17% in week) and NW at 348 (down nearly 12% in week).

South West 190 -is up 15%, London 189 - up over 24%, South East 179 - is up over 34% and East 150 - up over 33%

As I said last night from the hospital data and regional case totals in the scoreboard the pandemic is moving and this is more evidence of that.

The NW - being the first and longest to have been in wave 2 - may yet be the first out of it.

My siren detector senses are saying the same. We are on the way out of it in Manchester.
