COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I still can’t help but feel that millions more have had this. So many people I know are saying they have had symptoms. The results of the anti body test will be key. Have read as small as 3 percent to maybe 20 percent.

Tbf, they could just be rundown/have a cold, whatever. Someone close to me works for the NHS, she had all the symptoms. Had a test. Negative. Her fella was tested too, negative. She's likely just ill. I think its human nature to presume that it's covid when its just as likely an illness going round, like these things always do. Personally too I had a really tight chest for a couple of weeks. I thought I might have had it, who knows maybe I did, but it could have easily just been a bit of anxiety kicking in, which is only natural too given everything.

It's been answered over and over. We won't be able to collate all of the figures for some time to come.
It's a bit like leading the league at Xmas only be mid table by Easter.
Counting deaths just keeps the masses and the media happy, it’s fucking pointless at this point.

Hypothetically, a country like Germany who keeps their deaths low at the moment may well suffer longer as not as many of their population have been subjected to the virus.

We just don’t know at this stage, but personally I just think the UK has purposely taken a middle of the road view, an element of herd immunity by allowing a fair percentage of us to be exposed to the virus whilst ensuring the NHS doesn’t get overrun.

I've just been out for a walk. The first in 7 weeks. Allowed an hour but had to remain within 1km of home. In essence here in Spain we are doing from today what you in the UK have been doing from day 1 of your lockdown.

That might have something to do with it.
Yes you have locked down much tighter than over here right or wrong I wouldn't pretend to know

watching the new cases for Lancashire health authorities, on a daily basis, although small, in the region of 20 to 40, they are still going up, and that is in spite of social distancing . Before any relaxing takes place surely to christ the figures need to be dropping.......public transport is almost deserted at the moment, if it starts to be busy again then off we go back to the beginning....

Only this. I've had a "tight chest" for a while, not so much now. But during those weeks I convinced myself I'd got Covid and was really stressed. (Have a 9 year old daughter). I've now realised this was probably psychosomatic. It really does play with your head.

Yup. Every time I get a sore throat now, the kind that I'd not even think twice about usually, I'm convinced I've got it now. Can imagine everyone else is the same. Hopefully we've both had it though and it is more widespread then we realise. That'd of course be a good thing, but I'm just not convinced sadly! We'll wait and see.

As some people have said maybe the UK has been following a semi herd policy.

Sweden which has been operating a herd policy has three times as many dead as Norway and Denmark combined.

And that's fine depending on what your goal is.

However strict lockdown prevents mortality rates more than casual lockdown and that is better than no lockdown.

I am not speaking about the economy or long term statistics here. They are things we don't know yet.

Our Govt quite rightly knew that with the Chavs we have here we could not keep a lockdown as long as Spain. We did it at the last minute possible,to allow for the longest time. It still not may be enough. We've got at least a full month of the same lockdown IMO (with a few tweaks here and there, bit for the majority, the same)
