I'm asking for evidence to back up his statement. The ONS have said we won't know, for sometime to come and when all the data is collected, will we have an idea to the real figures.
It's a bit like giving us the league at xmas with over half the season to go. If it wasn't so serious.

Is this a trick question? I don't remember Lombardy-like scenes in Manchester at the time they were happening in Lombardy. Perhaps I missed it.

As far as I can recall, whilst people were dying in their hundreds every day in Lombardy, we were still going to footy matches and out and about shopping.

Too heavy handed based on the guidance given though, which actually proves the point more. In terms of support of a lockdown, it’s overwhelmingly in favour of it and always has been. Ultimately, fear of death will always trump everything in the end. It’s then about the message.

29,400 deaths recorded as of today in the UK as a result of Coronavirus. Nobody can know how many of those died needlessly at present. Probably not for a very long time either. I think your question says a great deal about you btw.

For me it's pretty straight forward, every single 1 of them died needlessly.

I'm absolutely perplexed at how a country that was well in the know, and largely untouched by Covid-19 whilst other countries were in lockdown impacted by Covid-19 are now the second worst affected country in the world. The true estimate is mentioned at 40,000 including care homes deaths.

What amazes me further is that many people are hailing Bojo and his government for their 'heroic' efforts. The same government that refused to take scientific advice into account for weeks and lockdown, and kept travel to and fro the country open.
