If it wasn’t bad enough for Ferguson it was a married woman aswell he was seeing, can probably safely say that’s been exposed now..

sorry, are you saying if you was PM not one single person would have died from this virus ?
Or have I got that wrong.

At what point did I say that?

What I said is everyone who has sadly passed was a needless death, and the numbers we currently have wouldn't be what they are if not only the government had acted accordingly but the British public too.

Anyone care to put a timeline on any of this?

You know, when each measure was implemented. What effect they had on the death rate? What was the known deaths/cases at each point?
You know just to refresh a few memories as it would appear the thread has been infected with hindsight 2020.

Probably wasn't a great idea to allow thousands of people from Madrid over into our public transport, bars, shops, airports and a football stadium in mid March when there were already literally thousands of infections and a steep rising death toll in, err, Madrid at that time. But hey, this is just me being infected with hindsight 2020. Ridiculous of me to think we might have a government in charge capable of looking at this at the time and thinking it maybe wasn't the best idea, maybe they don't have smartphones and weren't aware of the news over there.

I think the figures have always included Scotland’s and NI’s additional deaths. It was England’s and Wales’ that were missing up until about 25 April. I believe they’re all counted now from all countries.
What’s not included is all the excess deaths which could potentially double the figure but there will be indirect effects included in those excess deaths. The same applies to all countries though.
The country that’s most likely to overtake us is Russia but they’re not including people with underlying conditions so their reporting is grossly understated, so we’ll never know.

just picked it up from a guardian report earlier so probably wrong - either way it’s just all grim seen the US have just gone above 70k -

The Office for National Statistics said 29,648 deaths were registered in England and Wales with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificates by 2 May .

With the addition of deaths in Scotland and Northern Ireland, this takes the UK’s death toll to 32,313, according to calculations by Reuters.

Deeper in the article it read that she's in an open relationship with her husband, so it's probably not quite as deceiving as the headline maybe suggests there.

Whilst not defending Ferguson, or Calderwood the ex chief medical officer for the Scottish government, I'm in two minds about his resignation. On the one hand he's been utterly stupid and I can totally see why his position is untenable, but at the same time I can't help think that he was in that role for a reason and we're probably losing some good professional research and advice which might affect things going forward.

It's now a week since it was confirmed how bad things were in care homes, yet every member of staff and every patient in the said care homes have not been tested to find the true picture. That is quite simply incompetence by DHSC.
