Ah yes I forgot ONS doesn't report for Scotland and NI. It's still only 51k though not 60k yet.
I would expect it to be more like 70k by the end of the year with additional people dying from not going to hospital for operations heart attacks, strokes, organ failure, cancer etc. And that's excluding a 2nd Covid-19 spike.

Also need to factor that high percentage of those that have died would have died in the next 7 or so months anyway so excess deaths may actually level off a bit by the end of the year. Providing we don't have a big 2nd spike.

How you doing, bud?

The head of my wife's school sent the staff a questionnaire last night mate, you might be also interested to hear...

He asked for the staff to list their concerns.

In addition, he had conducted a survey with parents of year groups 1-6, just so he can plan for numbers.

61 per cent of parents do not plan to send their kids back at the start of June.

I feel for the kids at the moment
My kids are missing school swimming cubs football etc
ThAt being said Gavin Williamson saying he has the best interest f children at heart, I am not really having that
If 61% are missing next year ends up a bit of a repeat of this year to get all kids on level

Because nobody else aside from trump is saying it will just disappear before a vaccine is found,it will spike again in the winter,it is not going away,it will be less in the summer but come flu season time it will cause havoc, there is no point believing something all the eminent scientists in the world aren't saying just because you want something positive to listen to

Edit,sorry I sound a bit harsh there

Whilst I understand what you're saying, the news from the eminent scientists is that they simply don't know. They just don't know at this stage. So if someone who by all accounts might be outwith his field but is still a lot more clued up than I'll ever be on the subject suggests that this is a possibility, and stressing that's all it is, then it's worth listening to a little bit of hope in these dark times.

A third of seriously ill patients with Covid-19 develop blood clots, i have a blood disorder which causes clots anyway, as do two of my children.
We're all in work, something else for us to worry about ffs

Yeah I suppose it is difficult to comprehend how teachers staying at home are teaching the children of the workers
Staying at home? Not full time generally because it hasn’t been necessary but schools tend to have a rota and teachers have been going in and teaching/looking after children of key workers. The rest of the time they are doing the online stuff from home for the kids who are at home. I’m not sure you comprehend anything tbh.

My worry is that the number of new infections isn’t really dropping significantly. With all the measures in place and the hardship of the last two months why isn’t this figure moving downwards?
