I wonder how they staff it? There can’t be hundreds of doctors and nurses just waiting for them to build a hospital in a week, surely.

WHO will have plenty of international staff ready for a situation like this, then you'll have international volunteers and they'll probably pull staff from lower priority areas of other hospitals as well.

Yes, China’s RHC has already indicated there will be reallocations of state medical resources as they work to contain the outbreak. The US CDC will also be sending limited support staff (more limited than usual after the Trump admin’s cuts to CDC and public health budgets in general) which usually undertake epidemiological investigations with international outbreaks of this kind. I am sure we also have investigators there and may provide some medical staff as support, as it serves us more to try to help fully contain the virus there as quickly as possible than merely wait for it to transmit beyond containment in the UK.

It’s not unlikely, if it gets very bad, that China will pull near-qualified medical students in to the fray, as well.

I think rather than any credit goes Ng to China, I think the world needs to demand that they overhaul how they keep animals and as one poster I saw said, Stop Eating Everything that Moves.

All of the major outbreaks occur there because the animal husbandry conditions are medieval and need sorted, or a real mass pandemic that wipes out millions is coming.
 
this guy seems to know what he's talking about. comparing the other coronoviruses with this one.



currently this Novel Coronovirus doesn't have upper respiratory issues. so no runny nose etc. and has a transmission rate of 2.68, meaning ever person infected will infect 2.68 more people on average, that mixed with asymptoatic is quite mix.
