It was 31 in all UK hospitals last Sunday. So a drop of 4. From what was the lowest daily hospital total since the early days of the outbreak then. So this is the new low. With the Sunday caveat.

Assuming the Welsh death was actually from yesterday that is just 8 deaths occurring in UK hospitals that happened yesterday. Though it will have been more because of delayed registrations it is still something few will notice.

Scottish new case numbers almost the same last Sunday as today too.

N Ireland had 4 new cases yesterday.

But worryingly Wales found 100 new cases. Which is rather high. The first time any home nation other than England has been in 3 figures lately as far as I recall.

Does the Welsh figure include the 70 cases at a chicken factory on Anglesey? That would distort the numbers.

I have to say I'm amazed that Spain is inviting Brits over for holidays.

Have been very impressed by the Spanish people and government during this period but inviting people over from a country that barely has CV under control is asking for trouble.

The crazy thing is temperature testing when they arrive in Málaga or wherever. It should be done before getting on the plane and putting fellow passengers at risk.
I agree with testing before you board a plane, that makes sense to me,not that temperature testing is all that reliable but it .might just catch a few

New positive cases scoreboard for today:

London + 18, North East + 8, North West + 38 . Low by recent standards. Weekend testing perhaps.

Local new cases: Bolton 2, Bury 2, Manchester 3, Oldham 5, Rochdale 0, Salford 0, Stockport 4, Wigan 1

After being quiet for a while Stockport added more cases than Manchester over last 2 days

Blackpool has quietened right down too adding just 2 cases in the last 6 days.
What is happening with hospital admissions ?

I have been very surprised to read that economic depression might not actually lead to a surge in mortality rates.
I had concluded like Trump that must be the outcome. How disappointed I am not only to share a trumpism but to realise donald and I are way off track.

I read somewhere a week or two ago that Spain have an unusual method of reporting cases/deaths which probably makes the figures look lower than they really are. They are in a better place with it than us but perhaps not as much as it appears just looking at the stats.

I expect they need to get their economy going and tourism is a fair chunk of that. British people probably make up quite a significant proportion of tourism. I think France, Greece, Portugal, Italy etc are doing the same thing for the same reasons. Cyprus seems to be holding out though.

What are you referring to here mate? have you read some study?

That is what you get for rushing to get everything open, this virus is a clever fucker,it is not just going to go away

Fake news surely. After all, Germany has got everything spot on with this while we’ve fucked up on all fronts*

*No doubt we have fucked up on various things, but not opening back up as quick as other countries might turn out to be a good decision
