I think you'll find the beuracrates don't work weekends and only do the admissions and Covid stats for the weekend on a Monday and Tuesday.

I know that, of course. I have been posting all weekend that the stats are not updated at weekend on the Gov site. So we have to wait to track them until today.

But they DO update on Monday and then report the numbers who were added over both weekend days as obviousy the hospital staff record this.

So I am commenting based on the numbers seen in the past even if they are not literally reported on the day. You can still see how many they were subsequently.

N Ireland data: 0 deaths

39 new cases from 6430 tests = about 0. 6%

Last weekend they recorded Sat & Sunday together and the total was 76.

However, in the 7 days up to then there had been 165 NI cases.

In the 7 days to today there have been 302.

Good seats close to stage.

And Australian dollars which are a lot less than the US dollar. About £160 each (assuming it's 2 tickets) is probably not far off what some would be here.

So the UK hospital number today is an all time low of just 2. No way to spin that but good. With the caveat it is Sunday data - not irrelevant - as there is always a cath up on Tuesday.

Last Monday the number was 6.

So the UK cases at this stage last Monday were

38 (if you divide the NI Total in half) + 29 (Scotland) + 12 Wales = 79

Today it is 39 +26 + 14 = 79.

So the other three nations have stood still on this modest case number for a week.

Last week England added a lowish number too and only 816 were recorded for the UK.

That was in fact the last time we had under 1000 in the UK.

Though that Sunday number was from a significantly lower number of tests than over the past few days.

And the news keeps getting better today.

Just 713 new UK cases.

From 162, 256 pillar 1 & 2 tests.

That is 12 K down on yesterday but actually more than some of the days in the past week when we had over 1000 cases.

Including the day we had the highest at over 1400. And is also several thousand higher than last Monday when we had over 100 more cases than today.

And the news keeps getting better today.

Just 713 new UK cases.

From 162, 256 pillar 1 & 2 tests.

That is 12 K down on yesterday but actually more than some of the days in the past week when we had over 1000 cases.

That is fantastic news.

That case total is the lowest since 4 August and has only been lower once more in the past 3 weeks.

And yet more good news. The all settings deaths total is another new record. Just 3.

The two England hospital deaths were aged 81 and 86 and both had previous underlying conditions.
