England hospital deaths just 2 - and only 1 from the last 5 days and none from last 48 hours. That really is the most remarkable figure in recent months.

Though it is Sunday data.

It is also a new way to count it,it would be better to give it a week then compare

Waiting for the BBC to do their usual City job and spin this negatively.

Though, of course, we know it is just one day and Sunday data and will be up tomorrow.

Nonetheless this is very obviously positive.

They have changed how to count deaths so they can include less people,a true reflection is waiting till a week has gone by then compare the last week
Likewise day to day comparison of cases is to me at least not the way to get a proper picture,it depends on so many things like the weekend and people at work or away,also they count tests sent and not actual!y tested so it depends on the post getting them back and tested,lower at the weekend for obvious reasons
I am used to looking at sales figures and you don't do that by day
The last four days cases before Sunday have been over a thousand,well up
any news is good news but in context

I wouldn’t disagree, however other countries that have seen flare ups have seen them go up much more than ours, so I’m encouraged that apparently that hasn’t happened.

Putting a time limit on it is ridiculous when it is clear about the longer term damage,take out the hit by the bus type ones obviously

Schools have had months to develop their return to school plans.

Not really, given the guidance has changed at least 3 times since July 30th.

But don't let that get in the way of a good teacher bash.

While this is good news it's taken a long time. In Europe only Belgium has a higher fatality rate.
