Buggeration, think I've got symptoms now, I can barely reach the kitchen. Tried for a home testing kit but they have none in stock so direct me to the walk in centre...
Best of luck, Blue.

Scaremongering at its worst.
A virus is invisible
A Pandemic is not.
Turn off the tv for a day...look around .
Look for any evidence of a killer virus..ie folk dropping dead, fighting for breath, corpses lining the streets, etc etc ....
The power of the media.
Alongside..the Weakness of the human brain.
Get your Face Nappy on,and spread more fear anxiety and depression.
Your doing a marvellous job....for someone who "used" to work in the media.
Have you anything to say about City?
You're doing a great job HP which is really appreciated by the vast majority on here. Don't rise to the bait!Given that I actually DID say something about City and the media in my post then maybe you should read the contents of what you attack first.
And I am not and never have been a journalist or worked for a newspaper. I have always worked for myself and have been seriously abused by the press more than once. So I need no lectures on what they can be like.
My post was about reporters who miss the story because they follow the steer nottheir own instincts. As I have made very clearover recent weeks in here (posts I suspect this writer never read - making my point) there is no right or wrong way to deal with a novel pandemic. We can only learn by experience and from one another.
So I have no issue with differing opinions. None of us is all right or all wrong on this. Its simpy not possible with sonething so new. But Iwill simply not respond to posts that attack and personalise. Because all I am doing is posting the data and it is up to everyone reading what they make of it.
Were I not collating the data for my own personal interest to steer what I do in my life I would likely have long since abandoned this thread. But I only will if requested to do so by more than one poster. Otherwise I will just move on past asI have long learnt that there are some things that you can never be right about in the eyes of others.
Totall agree about outdoors. Quangos too.i happen to believe in power symbols and things like flags and architecture being symbols of control and power over the general populace (nazis, egyptians and so on, the shard), and this face mask issue falls neatly into that bracket, as a kind of psychological (and literal) 'muzzle'. However i personally don't believe that, and there are always gradations of folks who believe in certain things.
Masks do appear to slow transmission indoors (personally i dont see the point outdoors) and i'll happily follow those rules. Also, how much 'muzzling' and conforming to 'the man' are they actually doing? i mean you can happily plot and transpire in the pub, the cafe or your home should you wish. It's not like you stopped a bloke in Asda before masks to discuss the erosion of social mobility due to trade reforms or something.
finally, i think there are much greater worries to freedoms than masks, such as political instability fuelled by shady quangos and thinktanks, unelected powerful people, lobbying, free speech, corpocracies and the distraction of the internet/endless media. Anyway, that's enough.
Where did you get those figures from?As pointed out, you clearly have no clue what the term Pandemic means.
there are currently 40/50k people a day dying of this globally. Just because we have it pretty well controlled doesn't mean it doesnt exist.

I've changed the name of the other thread. to "Personal Views"
