44 people are catching it for every 1 million that exist in the UK. 44 X 66 = 2,904.
Think you imagined 1 in 44 million.
thats how I read it... Doh.

Great news! Not a silver bullet, but another thing that should lessen the deaths :)
No you're not wrong, my missus and dad both take steroids, and there was definitely a warning early on that it put them at greater risk, my wife basically self isolated for the first 2 months because of that and another drug that was considered an issue, she went out but not any shops only for outdoor walks.I was just looking at that, that is great news, also weird how at the start i think steroids were seen as bad ? I might have dreamed that though, now two are being used with great effect
Thanks , i thought they were seen as putting you at higher risk, i think it was seen as the body had to have some inflamation to kick off the healing process as with when you break a bone you cant be on steroids. Good news they can now be used on the sickest patients to keep them aliveNo you're not wrong, my missus and dad both take steroids, and there was definitely a warning early on that it put them at greater risk, my wife basically self isolated for the first 2 months because of that and another drug that was considered an issue, she went out but not any shops only for outdoor walks.
Odds of catching covid are currently 44 in a million per day, let that sink in.
Shame common sense isn't catching... Good summary of the real world.well, not quite, as each person's fate is partially in their own hands, so to speak. I could nip out the pub all day every day and get in people's faces and generally be a bellend and increase my 'odds' compared to lonely Joe who never ventures out and gets his shopping delivered to his door. Also i may live rurally or i may live in extended families in a densely populated inner city area. Plus society is not as active as it was, so general rates of transmission of quite a few infectious diseases are currently down.
BUT i believe your point stands. I also believe media hype has an important role here and that society is NOT crumbling at the edges. We sadly had a systemic shock with a new virus that ripped through older and frailer people due to one or more catastrophic errors in governance. Society is carrying on out there, dont forget to actually live your lives people, but just be kinder and more considerate to others and be more aware of what implications your actions might have, at least for a while.
