Weeks ago Manchester was put onto special measures, has anyone actually seen any impact of these measures?

My life has not changed at all since the measures were brought in, having said that I chose not gone to any bars or restaurants since they all opened back up.

Seems to be the plan.

Seriously though as we we coming out of lockdown we were told it would be done in stages and that if the rate went back up we would start going back to previous stages.
This all seems to have gone to cock.

Seems odd to me that after 4 or 5 months of warning us of a deadly second wave, that we get to the point where the second wave may be starting and we don't appear to have a clear plan of action.

Think they were looking at a fingers crossed plan of action.

Interesting ONS data today,

Of the 5330 adults under 65 who died up to July from Covid 72% occurred before 25 April and were very likely to have been caused by a Covid infection caught before the UK locked down because of the time from infection to death in most cases.

Boris : - cases have quadrupled in a month. Rising percentage number are positive.

At last they have woken up to the importance here.

Evidence it is spreading to the older and vulnerable.

Need to reduce the R rate to 1. To prevent the far worse measures we would otherwise haveto introduce in time.

So 'a stitch in time now' needed. But not a full lockdown. Schools. colleges and Covid compliant businesses CAN stay open.

Boris:- From Thursday pubs, bars, restauarants must close at 10 and table service only.

Police will enforce.

Facemasks MUST be used by retail staff and customers and taxi drivers.

Boris: From Monday a max of 15 can attend weddings. Funerals unchanged.

No supporters from 1 October at sports events.

First offence for not wearing mask will be £200 fine.

it was always an odd on, I go shopping with my mask on and get served by someone who doesn’t , yet who meets many more people than me in their working day ?
