There's a new programme on netflix, just started, pandemic. Scary stuff. When spanish flu hit in 1918, probably 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million (three to five percent of Earth's population at the time) died. That's without the global flights we have now. They reckon it's will happen again, just a matter of when and it could wipe out 100's of millions.
David Attenborough will be pleased as he has said the the earth is vastly over populated.

He's right, but who's going to impose a one child policy for a few generations? No one as capitalism would pretty much have to be abandoned.

Maybe for another thread but Chris Packham was on the telly the other day and he made the point that it isn’t necessarily about population but about consumption

I’m reading a book called ‘Sapiens’ at the moment which has touched on this. It’s a great book

this virus may have the ability to stop all public gatherings if it gets here as has been suggested and as seen with the cancellation of the new year celebrations in China - If so would the Premier League cancel the season and if yes and assuming quarantine restrictions allow where would be the best place to watch the dippers have a meltdown of Biblical proportions in Liverpool?

Every cloud ...
