I think 15 deaths is pretty terrible. sorry.

If you factor that up to England's population it would mean about 170 deaths happening there. Happily we are not there yet in a day.

But I agree about the plateauing of case rises which I did refer to with the Wales data. And I have noted happening a few times in other numbers over the past week.
Of course it is, but were entirely predictable given the lag in deaths to the increase in cases over the last weeks. Please note the post I was replying to was the number of cases and the %age of tests figure. Unfortunately deaths won't go down until this figure does, so a levelling off after a couple of weeks of big increases is better news.

I’ve just been to my local town centre and it was heaving. Lockdown in Spring felt like it. This was just a normal day shopping with masks on. The pubs and restaurants were busy too.

Northern Ireland completes the set:

2 deaths v 0 last week v 1 week before

1031 cases v 902 last week v 726 week before

Over 20% of those tested tested positive - for first time afaik.

231 patients (up 18 in day) v 134 last week v 65 week before

Ventilators 22 (up 2 in day) v 11 lasy week v 9 week before

So the cases from the three nations without England today are 2872

Last week it was 2536 and week before 2066.

Which is not even a doubling over two weeks.

Hospital deaths from the UK today are 108. It was 87 last Saturday. (Or 70 if you put the Scottish deaths on the right day and not add the extra 17 from earlier days all in one go as happened last Saturday).

All settings from that 87 was 81. But has not been below 120 for past four days.

Scottish infections

154 over 65
28 over 85

62 under 15
22 under 5

199 aged 15-24

753 aged 25-64
Another high % of the over 65s. Easy to see why deaths are rising now this bleed over has occurred from the younger age groups.

When it was 5/6% the deaths were small in total. They are starting to take off now it is more than double that.

It is obvious that this is the number one priority to try to bring down to stop the NHS being swamped.

If only we had a way to stop that transfer we could contain the worat aspect of this wave over the winter but we do not even seem to be doing anything much at all to even get this key fact across to people and try to stop it escalating.

I remain utterly baffled why there is no messaging direct to the vulnerable - who are as cheesed off and confused as everyone by what they are allowed/not allowed/advised/requested/mandated to do.

So they all just do what politicians do and we are where we are.

Why on Earth is no special messaging using icons they trust being used to make clear what is happening. I do not know a aingle person who trusts or even believes what any politician or government sponsored doctor is saying in the public domain any more. And almost noboody has a real clue about what they are allowed to do.

This just looks so obvious I am starting to wonder if they actually want older people to die to get this thing over with. So have a policy of deliberate incompetence.

Cannot be true, obviously, but their apparent strategy seems hard to understand. As the number one priority right now has to be stopo the vulnerable catching it and becoming the next statistic.

And nothing of the kind is happening.
