I've been thinking the same mate. In-laws live in some remote areas of Europe. But just put logic before enjoyment, as hard as that is sometimes. If your Mrs or kids fall really ill, you'd rather them be in UK for treatment. Not just the cost, but the level of treatment is gonna be lightyears ahead of somewhere like Cyprus for this virus.
If the virus explodes in the UK the NHS is likely to be overwhelmed compared to healthcare services in a country that has a much lower rate of infection. Most European countries have good healthcare facilities.

Probably not for those in zero hours contracts or even those who have a basic hrs contract but get regular extra hours - a lot exist pay packet to pay packet. Then there's the self employed and contractors.
My business is already being hit and we haven't a single case within 40 miles yet.

theyll just stop uneccesary treatments like sex changes, ivf, fuck people off with a sore finger from A&E, what they have to be worried about is their own staff been off for weeks.

Was talking to someone last night whos wife is a nurse and at their hospital they are already starting to put contingency plans on place for staff not being able to work. The bottom line was operations, cancer care, intensive care unites would all severely suffer if this goes south big time like projected.

The Italians spent the two weeks before this blew up thinning out what they had for exactly this reason - to have as much capacity as they could.

I have a feeling the fire service will be pulled into help responding to cardiac arrests etc plus maybe the Hazmats side.

had to go to 2 business trips to germany next two weekends and government just decided to put all people coming from Germany into 14 days self-isolation. Canceled both trips. Lost nice money, but I didn't fancied going tbh.
