The have worked fantastically well in the Far East. Maybe European people are just not compliant enough. I think it’s almost inevitable the way things are going that we will be under some new lockdown in the next 3-4 weeks. Is Tier 3 strong enough? I’m not sure.

I think you might be right. I did read something about Germany's early success being partly down compliance.
That seems to be changing as less and less Germans are following guidelines.

I have one of those now since mine dropped to ninety in hospital . One of interesting things they are finding in icu is that patients with really low levels like low eighties can look fine , chatting and not breathless , it is a strange phenomamon( sp)

98/99/100 in healthy lungs , 94 is the lowest that they like it to be , anything below and the alarms start ringing and you say ten hail maries that it doesnt drop into the 80's

Just read Germany track and trace system collapsing and people being urged to advise close contacts themselves

This table shows much more clearly than the raw case numbers which of the boroughs are doing well and which are not across the past week.

It is not just the higher the number that matters to put somewhere on watch but whether it is moving up or down and how fast.

Stockport with the biggest rise after the two real in trouble boroughs shows as does Manchester not being at all in the trouble its raw numbers suggest.
