My guess is that it already has in some cities. Lack of testing and fake news from the administration are making it look like it hasn’t. We’ll find out soon I would imagine.

I was due to fly back a couple of times this month but cancelled my plans. Probably be no flights anyway now so was a wise decision. Last think I wanted was being stuck in the U.K.! Haha!

Have a few family members messaging/emailing me to coordinate plans for our older family members in Zaragoza, Huesca, and Barcelona.

Several that should really be doing this are either on extended holiday elsewhere (and may get stuck there) or are completely shirking their duties, the ****s. It’s just me and my uncle in Marseille (who is only 11 years older than me) taking care of all of it remotely.

And I am apparently being drafted in for the UK contingent response, as well.

Absolute shambles.

Better a month late than never.

The official declaration will make available pooled funding for response, as well as certain collective protocols and options for action.

I understand there was likely pressure from various governments not to declare the pandemic to avoid panic and economic impact, but I think they really should have done this as soon as the generally accepted criteria for pandemic conditions was met, rather than waiting.

What’s done is done, though.

Certain remedies, funding, and protocols are held for official pandemic status, not to mention that it spurs more comprehensive action outside of the WHO-related measures.
