hmm, it's not quite "dont bother if youre not this" but it's not actively pushed to what might be considered the 'healthy mob'

Weird, I wonder if that's because of financial implications? I would have thought that (especially this year) all the medical services around the world would be doing whatever they can to reduce the strain.

Can‘t see it being fin as there is a charge for the vaccine.
I can see it taking up too much of the general surgeries’ time to vaccinate everyone

According to the Times they have also agreed the extra pay GPS will get for administering the vaccine.
Is there anything these greedy fuckers actually do for their salaries?

Thats more to do with the cost of running a general surgery and also a large scale community immunization drive at the same time. It will cost more to provide the extra service if they do not want to disrupt the already busy surgeries.

The flu vaccine was done in a local hall , by volunteers for my town. The same volunteers have been asked to volunteer for covid vaccine roll out, no date given yet though.

In the UK they have gradually increased the access to FREE flu jabs to many at risk groups or those who live with people at risk. I have been having a jab every year for over 20 years for free long before I was 65 via the NHS as I was a carer for someone who needed it. So I was deemed to need it too.

It has never just been for over 65s. Pregnant women and others with conditions get it free too and have for a while.

And cheap jabs can be bought by anyone at chain stores and are widely promoted.

Unlike most country's without free healthcare the NHS gives free treatment like this and so targets those within that group who get invited annually by GPs. But there are ads on TV pushing the jabs to those who do not qualify for free ones as they are cheaply on offer.

Though this year the free group has been expanded a lot to include over 50s because of the co risk with Covid.

Ive not, but Im taking part in a vaccine trial and the nurse was telling me that tests done at home are more likely than tests done at a centre to come back inconclusive. And nothing to do with trained staff or not. In a car, the participant is more likely to use the mirror on their sun visor, therefore look upwards and tilt the head back. This opens the throat and allows better access. At home they are likely to look forwards into a wall mirror and not tilt the head backwards. As part of the trial I take the test supervised every few weeks. Basically in throat until you gag. Up nose until your eyes water. With your head back.
Makes sense that I guess. I used the bathroom wall mirror but nothing in the instructions to suggest you should tilt your head to carry out the test.
I also don't get how they can distinguish between inconclusive and negative as if there's no trace of the virus how would they know that's because you didn't swab far enough back or because you don't have it.
I do suspect that a large number of people doing the tests aren't doing it correctly and would be interesting to know the inconclusive rates and the reasons for it

That could be it. Over here you can get the flu jab at the local drug store. I got mine on the day they started doing them and it was lined up around the building when I came out.

The last company I worked for gave us a voucher every year to get a flu jab.

I went down to the Etihad on Friday morning. Have a choice so got the professional to do it. Got a text on Saturday morning at 6.15!...negative result thankfully.
Weird that as I only live less than a mile from the etihad unless that is drive through only as I stated I had no car only option I had was a walk through at Belle Vue and only option is a self test and manned solely by showsec staff.
Out of interest how long did it take to get your results?
