Wales data is sadly awful today.

44 deaths - really scary for a small nation. Pro rata to England population that would be over 700 deaths!

Cases 1202 at 15% of tests done.

Sadly the disastrous numbers include England hospitals.

302 deaths today. 93 from the NW alone.

Anyone thinking we do not need lockdown needs to take a moment to think on todays numbers that are a huge rise upward.

This country is in big trouble it seems. And action is necessary. Indeed well overdue in my view and we might have been able to save some of these lives if we had acted sooner.

Weird that as I only live less than a mile from the etihad unless that is drive through only as I stated I had no car only option I had was a walk through at Belle Vue and only option is a self test and manned solely by showsec staff.
Out of interest how long did it take to get your results?

Ah sorry, yeah just a drive through one only. Should get your result the next day. My eldest lad has it so thought I best go for a test as I watched the West Ham game at his house.

Northern Ireland continues the trend meaning double figure deaths today in all 4 nations for first time in nearly 6 months.

So UK death total today is 406 - the biggest day to day rise yet from 263. A grim day that will hopefully focus a few minds about why we are in lockdown from midnight.

Unfortunately these numbers are likely to go up even with lockdown as they are already cases that we are too late to stop reaching this point of no return.

Lockdown can only control death numbers a few weeks into the future which is disconcerting if this kind of rise continues.

can you outline why you think the covid vaccine should work any differently to the flu jab? i.e. targeted at over 65s, those with certain health conditions, pregnant women, carers, NHS staff and finally 50-64 year olds?
