COVID-19 — Coronavirus

As feared the NW data was probably screwed up yesterday (along with NE and Yorks too but to a lesser degree) and was why numbers were so low as they have gone up significantly today and represent a big chunk of the day to day rise. Though I had feared a little worse.

And London still has more cases.

London 1964 - down from 2069

Midlands 1435 - down from 1718

North East 638 - UP from 528

Yorkshire 1237 - UP from 1119

And North West 1689 - UP from 802 and more than doubled - a number which was almost certainly significantly under reported yesterday.

As I noted then when posting the results - given the astonishingly low data it created for Greater Manchester - it was hard to take as genuine.

Would not be surprised if around 1200/1300 both days was more accurate.

cases per 100k per LA, seven day rolling rate. Up to and including 26/11

Cumbria right down, Liverpool is plummeting, Manchester & Lancashire decreasing. Lancaster having something of a little rise since its day in the sun a few days back!! still tier 3 though, and not doing itself favours for any review.

603 deaths tragic.
Cases are falling and may drop further but at the END of the lock down I'm not sure whether that figure is low enough.
I don’t think it is but, whilst I’m not one of those blaming schools, hopefully if they do shut them a bit earlier this year, that will somewhat make up for the lockdown ending, meaning it doesn’t jump too much.

603 deaths on the last day of lockdown is tragic.

Greater Manchester news. Not a disaster - though everywhere up.

Not as impacted by the increase as other parts of the NW and the GM percentage of the NW total fell again fron yesterday's low low numbers to just 43% - confirming that.

Total today is 731 - double yesterdays very unlikely 351 but still pretty low - though not falling really week to week - the total last Tuesday was 721 - 10 fewer. With 763 the day before.

So across the two days if we suspect low data yesterday that is 1484 last wk over those two days v 1082 over them this wk.

We will have to see what happens tomorrow to judge if there is any pattern emerging.

Every borough was up on yesterday naturally and Manchester back up above 100. But everywhere else was still in just double figures.

Oh and for residents of Oldham - you had fewer cases than Stockport - which looked impossible a week or two ago.

Admittedly by just 1 case. But nonetheless a sign of great progress there.

The Department of Health and Social Care has said that more than a million tests will be sent to care home providers over the next month to allow safe indoor visits.

Visits will be able to happen across all tiers and will begin on Wednesday.

Shocking numbers of deaths again. Yes i know it is tuesday , they are still sad numbers , winter hasnt even got going yet
Got to least try to look on the bright side though, I fair few of those 603 wont actually be covid.
