Yep. Thought as much. Kinda sad really, I get politicians squabbling with various interests and balancing acts going on to keep a vote but its sad to see the scientific community in a similar boat, p definitely naive of me but I'd hoped they'd mostly be singing from the same hymn sheet over such a global issue.
 
Fucking great news. Hopefully drive the numbers back down and stop Sandra, Tina and Leanne doing their 4 hour shop round B and M everyday with their 14 kids

January is going to be a tough month for so many.

Personally I'm going to miss the gym, I think they should be kept open (on a booking based system like my gym) as going outside to exercise isn't as easily done like it was during lockdown 1.
 
Maybe not the correct thread but the premier league needs to look at the model they’ve got going. With the new fast-spreading variant out there, more games are going to be postponed and the season will end up being cancelled. If they want to form a bubble then they’ll have to do what the NBA did which is play in an isolation zone. Testing alone won’t be enough.

Also wasn't the 62% for the 3 week interval, which they've now said can be improved by the longer interval?

70% of some vaccine is better than 90% of no vaccine. We don't have much Pfizer vaccine, and certainly not st the moment. The Oxford order will do 50 million people when it's all arrived, and will be used at a much faster rate.
