The chinese are eating things that humans are not meant to eat,it is a message to the human race that we have fucked about with nature so much we are now getting it back, bird flu, swine flu, foot and mouth (or is that the same thing?)CJD,our over reliance on meat and farming has gone too far

Pretty sure humans aren’t meant to eat meat full stop. Given the fact we have fingers for picking things off trees and not claws, and our teeth are built for grinding and not ripping flesh, and the fact are stomachs or digestive system don’t cope well with meat. Doesn’t stop me, but I know it’s not meant for my body. Without fire we wouldn’t even be able to eat meat. You Can’t really say bats are bad and chickens are good, it’s a cultural thing.

I don't want to get too deep into that as i'm a veggie and accused of preaching, each to their own but the effects on nature is plain to me

Australopithecines, the proto humans that homo sapiens evolved and decended from were on this earth for over a between a million to 4 millions years and ate meat at least 2 million of those years, cooking food is about 400 thousand years old, so we were omnivourus from our first appearance as a species

My digestive system loves a nice fillet steak, lamb chop or chicken wing and my digestive system does just fine thanks.

I didn’t say we can’t, or don’t, I’m saying our bodies are not build for it, which they’re not.

Without fire we wouldn’t.

Actually the process of pounding, slicing and flaking raw meat, again befor ewe had ever used fire to cook food led to us to evolve with smaller teeth over many centuries in our early evilution and also the less time it took to both collect food and also absorb suffiecient quanties nutrients, protiens and iron helped us to to also increase evolution of brain size and other vital organs like those we use for speach.

This is what scientists have said anyway.

None of that, of course, means that increased meat consumption—or any meat consumption at all—is necessary for the proto-humans’ 21st century descendants. The modern pleasures of a grilled steak or a BLT may well be challenged by the health and environmental benefits of going vegan, but saying no to meat today does not mean that your genes and your history didn’t need or require them to evolve i to the humans we are today.

Only PETA claim our intestines are not geared for meat consumption btw, where millions of years of eating the stuff begs to differ.

Without tools, we wouldn’t even be able to kill most the animals we eat, OUR BODIES are not DESIGNED to do it.

Love to see someone prove me wrong, run down a kangaroo, choke it until it can’t breath, rip open it’s skin and dig in raw like every other other animal that is actually designed to eat meat.

Would probably die though ;) hence my point.
