Yep. My folks are in their 70's and dad has a few of the usual health issues that make him vulnerable. Biggest risk to them is probably my sis dumping an ill grandchild on them while she goes to work.
I’d be warning her, in no uncertain terms, not to. I have already told my sister to not even think of doing that with my mother.

Here is a nice informative video about the how and why regarding China's wet markets. You will see it is a recipe for disaster. Be advised ther are some distressing images of animals we consider pets in cages and butchery of other animals (ducks etc). You can just listen to it though

Weird fucking arseholes.

Absolutely, but I think the main problem is the folks like many of the old buggers most at risk think it's business as usual.

Someone in mcr died now in his 60’s
did have underlying health problems didn’t say what though:(

And he had just been in holiday to Italy so he wasn’t on deaths door with his issues.

The Oil price has absolutely crashed overnight by 25% on the markets. I hope not many of you have shares in BP or Shell.

Japan 5% down Australia 7%.

FTSE could go below 6000 this morning. A 20% fall in 10 days.

Sell BP; buy Kimberly-Clark

This is what’s pissing me off the most. “It’s not going to affect us, less than 300 people have it”. Fucking winds me up. I’ve been working from home 2 days a week and will be today be asking my boss for it to be 5 days. It’s not going to go well as she is one of the “it’s just a bad flu” people.

Presumably when you see them wandering around when they don't need to you are wandering around because you absolutely have to do. Your disregard for the elderly is very disconcerting. The very idea of anyone almost hoping someone else gets a virus is appalling.

I didn't say I hoped complete bullshit
And yes I have to see them as I'm working

She’s a ****.

I would imagine 300 will be 600 in 48 hours time. 2 weeks it will probably be like Italy, the difference being it doesn’t seem concentrated on one part of the country like what’s happened there which is a bit more concerning if parts of the uk have to be put on lockdown.

Exactly. And this is the basis of my argument I’ll be having at work today. We will be worse than Italy because we are doing fuck all. And the outcome of Boris’ meeting today will no doubt just be “work from home where possible”. We need more than that. How bad would it have to be for me to just put health first and work from home no matter what they allow me to do?

It’s the poor sods who will feel compelled to going in work as they haven’t got a choice even if they have it. I can do 60 percent of my job from home but nothing is being said yet, surely it would be prudent for the government to take us who can do that out of the equation of people roaming round spreading it.

Spot on.

I mean how damaging would it be to simply change advice to "work from home if you can"???
