does that mean I have to dig out my old radio and to pick up radio 5! I presume Staurt Hall is still covering our games and banging on about the ‘theatre of comedy’

Brick her windows and torch her car.Kept kids off school.....
Had Headteacher on the phone, she has informed me it will go down as unauthorised absence.
Conversation was pretty much her spouting... the current public health England guidelines are children should be attending school any absence will be unauthorised.
Asked me to support the school and reconsider sending my child back to school.
school was a safer place then mixing with the general public (I pointed out child would be in home isolation or house arrest as the teacher called it)
keeping child off school would cause unnecessary panic amongst children and parents.
The WHO seem to believe those numbers
I think you underestimate them. They're not stupid. They might be accurate. I'm just saying that they have reasons for downplaying it. WHO just go with whatever figure a country reports.
They think they know better when it comes to every subject tbh. Expats are the very worst of the worst when it comes to chatting shite.
For about three days until I actually spend a few hours reading up on this, Flu, viral and epidemiology. Then I realised I’d been talking out of my arse by comparing this to Flu.He was one of them when this all started.
That doesnt sound like a good sign.US stoccks just opened and clossed after 15 minutes :-(
DJIA down over 2000 points. FTSE down over 500.
Lower figure than i was expecting to hear unless it is on the back of weekend and 24 hours behind.319 cases confirmed Uk
The oil price has crashed, as well as coronavirus effect.
The pause is a safety valve on the Dow, triggered by a large fall. It's still down nearly 1500, but more stable.
I can’t see it killing under several million worldwide mate unfortunately. Even in a best case scenario. Now if pollution was reduced by 30% over the next few months and it directly correlated, I can't see COVID-19 killing anywhere near that number of people?
Do not, in any circumstances, purchase an annuity. No need since flexible drawdown was introduced in 2015. Annuity rates are circa 1.3% when they were over 5% in the early 2000’s.Karma. Their grandparents voted for Brexit.
More seriously - if I've not taken my (small) private pension yet, and despite the drop in share prices, wouldn't reduced life expectancy mean a bigger annuity? (Legal and General reporting last week higher profits because people aren't living as long as expected - before the virus hit; why isn't that going to pensioners rather than shareholders?)

The main issue with the flu comparison is simple numbers.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm
so, oct-feb.
Flu.
34-49m flu cases
350k/650k hospitalisations
20-52k deaths
Apply the same to covid, which given the speed it’s spreading could happen.this is using 3.4% case fatality rate given by the WHO last week, and 20% hospitalised figures given by the WHO.
34-49m
6.8m-9.8m hospitalised.
1.15m-1.66m deaths.
It's still a consequence of the coronavirus as demand for oil has gone through the floor and the Russians don't want to cut production so the Saudis are undercutting them. From the news reports Saudi Arabia has decided to start a price war with Russia dropping the prices.
