COVID-19 — Coronavirus

It's interesting and I wonder myself if it has been floating around for longer than they know, or have admitted to knowing. Or a lot of people just thought it was bad flu, which it could have been.

I came back from 31 nights in Tenerife with a cold that started there and developed into horrendous flu, so bad I didn't eat or move much from my bed for a few days except for a drink and to use the toilet. The cough hasn't really shifted although it isn't as bad. When this broke I did wonder especially as the apartment I rented was owned by an Italian who uses it himself, along with other family members. Who knows?
Good your over the worst if it is.

So... I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is nowt to do with him.

the poor healthcare system has been in place fir decades. the person that wanted to make healthcare free is the one they don't want voted in this primary election.

The Americans are the bunch of turkeys that think Christmas dinner is awesome every year.

They do it to themselves, so let them get on with it.

agree that it’s not Trumps policies that have lead to their healthcare system they have got, but surely by ridiculing the gravity of the situation he has indirectly exposed far more people to contracting the virus - for some bizarre reason he has a huge following there which cling on to every word that comes out of his mouth, why would They act any different on his guidance to the virus?

I felt like shit after Madrid away. Bad cough, few aches, chapped lips and a cold sore.

Now I either had it or I was run down due to what we got up to over there.

However, I okish now. I still have got a pain, like a muscle strain in my neck.

I mentioned before, couple of days in Malaga end of January, you could not make it up but on the way out I was sat next to a couple of Chinese folks, and in the airport coming back was surrounded by a couple of hundred Italians waiting for a flight to Milan.

Back a few days and rough as a bears arse, all the symptoms. When the penny dropped that it could perhaps be the virus I rung 111 couldnt get through so did the online one, which assured me there was no need to test me.

I am just about over whatever it was but still a bit short of breath. sore joints, and still tiring alot quicker than normal, having M.E. and Fibro it doesnt take much anyway. I would be fuming to find it is/was the virus now as potentially I could have passed it on to a few people.

As a few say though I really do think a good few have had it and longer ago than previously thought.

Christ Italy are number two in the world charts.

what is going on???

Massive jump in cases and deaths in one day.

I think they were the first country to ban flights from China and take quite tough measures but it appears to be having little effect. They say we are two weeks behind them so we need to keep a close eye on there and ourselves.

God knows how their hospitals are going to cope if this rate of increase continues.

Maybe they could ban cars and reduce the RTA rate or abolish cancer?
Just for perspective and for the people who think it's comparable to flu, Italy had its worst flu season for 14 years a couple of years ago. 4 million got it and 30 (yes thirty) died. For Covid-19 there are 10,149 cases and 631 deaths so far, and it's increasing every day. People need to get a grip with their stupid comparisons.

You missed out washing their hands more often
Also just need to keep calm and avoid “hysteria”.

Though, while I agree that does help, now that I think about it, @Uffa said they were already doing that, so I am not sure of the sufficiency of that specific response strategy to actually containing and mitigating the virus.

And yet we still have numerous, maybe even the majority of, posters saying we should keep going as normal to our entertainment palaces

France not looking too good.
1600 cases, 30 deaths.

Not a go at you at all, mate, but I do wish the media especially would start reporting confirmed cases and confirmed severe cases, rather than CFR, as that combination is a much better ‘simple’ indicator of overall potential impact to public health, economy, and society-at-large (even if confirm case metrics are skewed due to [il]legitimate limits of data collection).
