Which is odd because there are only two individual nations in the UK: Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Not in NHS terms, there are separate NHS structures for Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland as well as England.

Great Britain is an island not a nation. The NHS consists of 4 parts, 3 of which are answerable to the devolved governments of their respective country. Each puts together its own figures.

I agree that there are people out there that need the £200 a week you suggest and rightly so however, some will abuse ala FSG who don't need it and will just take advantage of the system. Others will think my God I am getting £200 a week happy days I am going to smoke and drink as much as I can coz its free and I never pay tax anyway so happy days. The people that really need it will thank the system knowing they will get hit in the future by tax etc, its a conundrum that I have no idea how to solve because the last thing we need is more forms and clicks for the people who are desperate.
