You should come on my sites - they look very different to what happened yesterday in Town. No handshakes, plenty of masks and distance.
Absolute bollicks and I’m sorry but I know for a fact that plenty of lads on sites aren’t wearing masks, are shaking hands, fist bumping etc and are working g right next to each other.
Now not wanting to derail the thread but if Starmer was in charge you’d be singing from a different hymn book mate and we all know on here that that’s a fact.

Can I just say, and this is my final point today as I’ve got to take my girlfriend to an appointment she’s finally got albeit 8 months late, that no protests in this country should be illegal!!
In the last couple of days I’ve read posts about tasering, locking up and banning protests.... seriously some people should reread their posts... this is supposed to be the U.K. not bloody Russia, NK or China!!
I think you're missing the point. Protests haven't been banned because we've turned into China or North Korea. They've been banned because they come under the umbrella of mass gatherings which are a potential breeding ground for the virus. These are extraordinary times and like it or not, extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Governments around the world - whether we agree with their measures or not and no matter how well or how poorly they've dealt with this pandemic - aren't doing this to oppress people. They're doing it for our own good, and once we're through the other end of this, these temporary laws will be lifted which in turn will allow us to go back to protesting as much as we want. Unless you live in China or North Korea of course!

The evidence from here in Wales is that if Labour was in charge nationally there wouldn't be much difference. Our lockdown (which ended today) doesn't look that much different from the one that has just started in England.

Doing it for my own good? Or for the good of 1% of the population who are at serious risk? For my own good has cost me a long serving job, created major health problems for members of my family, cost the mental health of a couple of people I know..

As for once we’re through this... there no knowing when that may be if at all, by then our children and their children’s futures will be so bleak it doesn’t bare thinking about.

And finally, as for this ‘temporary measures’ being lifted. Scotland changed their tier system to 5 sections, in tier 0, which I think we’d all assume is normality, there’s the caveat of ‘with certain restrictions still in place’.
What? What are they still going to stop the population from doing after it’s all gone away.
Seriously some of these draconian measures are going to be with us for a very very long time

So what are you saying? That we should let this virus rip through the whole population? In that case what's 1% of 67 million? And what's 1% of 9 billion?

May already be covered but Mink's mutation info.

in Sept, 12 known cases of the new Mink mutation. Denmark saying there are "Many" cases which suggests community transmission.

mutation is in the receptor so impacts the infection rates.

WHO: "Moderately decreased sensitivity to neutralising antibodies" meaning people that have had the original virus may have limited immunity which could hit effect the vaccine's effects.

there have been 4 other cases of Human->Mink->human but this is the 1st mutation that is classed as a "Unique varient", seems to be moving quite freely between Humans and Mink.

I've not had chance to finish the video yet.

All lads when walking round have to wear masks or they get a red card. Fact. Nothing to do with politics whatsoever. And yesterdays protests were stupid. Lads on the site are just trying to earn a living. I have not seen one handshake in months and i am on site at least 30 hours a week.

I feel for what has happened to you. Its shit but i don't think yesterdays protests do anyone any good and i would imagine most would strongly agree.

Starmer would have wanted to lock down earlier so i don't get that point?

There's a marked difference in behaviour between this lockdown and the last. Whether people are more familiar with lockdown,or more complacent, there are definitely more people on the street, more cars on the road including at rush hour.

Seems someone on our road had a party on Saturday night also. There's a house being done up and apparently there were a load of people in there and sleeping over including some of the builders working on it (told one of the vehicle parked up had the firm's name on it!), drinking and partying until 3am and they placed a board up against the front window to block anyone's view - drove past this morning and that bit is true at least.

What they didn't do is accounts for the fact that this road is a predominantly retired area and curtain twitching is the favourite pastime. Plenty of over 75s who are still pretty terrified to leave their homes and been told pictures have been taken of all the vehicles parked up. Will be interesting to see if the police act.

It’s not killing 1% though is it.
How many is it killing then? Even if it's 0.5% or 0.3%, that's a lot of fucking deaths if the whole world gets it. This is the problem when people quote the low mortality rate - the argument falls down because it's contagious as fuck and this is something that the entire global population can potentially get if it's left unchecked and the knock-on effect in terms of additional deaths from other things will be a lot worse than we've seen. Rabies has the highest mortality rate on Earth - 99.9% - but that's utterly irrelevant in this discussion due to the fact that hardly any fucker ever gets it thankfully whereas Covid (despite its very low mortality rate in comparison) has killed way more people in the past 9 months than Rabies has in the past 100,000 years.

What restrictions?
Kids going in one way but out the other in single file?
Parents having to wear masks but kids don’t
You seen a playground recently at school break?
All a fucking shit show. From an incompetent government.
No restrictions on adult life pubs, gyms etc to ensure schools stayed open

Sturgeon explained when she put them in that she felt there needed to be a tier more and less restrictive than the tiers put into place in England. But she did not want to confuse people by having the same number in different countries meaning different things so introduced a zero and a four.
There is no intention of having them as permanent measures.

We’ll see.
