Bloody hell

Bloody hell
Those numbers were all from yesterday not today.

But today so far is worse sadly. I was trying to decide whether to post given that it's Christmas but I will,~

England hospital deaths only news out as yet from the past 24 hours (many countries not properly reporting this weekend) but these England numbers are 401.

That is up from 317 last Friday and from the 350 yesterday that was part of the number cited by Kaz above from yesterday's total.

Another big jump and some of the highest death figures since April which include 21 December - this Monday - already topping the number of deaths we had at the peak of wave 2 a month ago after just 4 days of data.

It is already at 335 and counting.

Sadly December 23 also added 195 deaths today to the 46 recorded for them yesterday so is now the second highest two day number after the 21st. So this new wave is escalating as we sit out of lockdown to enjoy Christmas.

The last time we saw these numbers were in the third week of April. And deaths lag cases by 3 weeks or so and as a result of this dithering and delay hundreds more a day will be dying throughout January and if we are not careful it will be too late to stem the tide from topping the 1100 or so each day in the first wave. We are looking at 500+ England only hospital deaths by New Years Day already.

Someone out there might wake up by then. Way too late as usual. But do not be shocked at a full lockdown for England announcement as early as tomorrow.

I think it is necessary to report these numbers Christmas or not as the virus sure does not care.

Scotland are not reporting deaths today and only inform us that they had 1165 cases - at 4.3% positive.

These are better numbers (down a bit from yesterday) but all we are going to get from them each day until Tuesday I think.

So far nothing at all from N Ireland or Wales.

If there is more I will post it.

We should get UK cases . But the deaths will likely be incomplete for many of the coming days.
