Heading out there in Jan (or at least hoping to)..what are the testing requirements?
Just as an aside to the above answer, it's due to be reviewed by our lovely Gov on or around 5th January I understand.
So depending on when you go it could all have changed again (or not, as the case may be).
FWIW I don't think they will drop the 'day 2' test requirement, though it could be downgraded back to an antigen test as sufficient.
The in resort test is the measure most likely to be scrapped.
A lot is obviously gonna depend on the hard data of Omicron and its knock on impact across society, and I also wouldn't rule out a temporary ban on leisure travel in January either (if they go down the extra cautious route)
You might have seen as well but Spain now require masks outdoors too.
Seems its been the case for almost 2 years now but everything is up in the air again for international travel.
Which makes it extra frustrating to see Sunak happy to help out hospitality due to a wave of cancellations for them in December, yet leisure travel has been dealing with mass cancellations for 21 months and we're nothing but an afterthought for sector specific help.
Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased for hospitality and it's absolutely right they are getting some financial help.
They seem to have a unified voice which is probably where the travel industry is going wrong in making ourselves heard (though I think the Gov can hear our plight, they just don't give a fuck to help)
Sorry, gone off on a tangent there haha
