I can’t wait to go on holiday when permitted. If that’s selfish I couldn’t care less.
Hopefully don’t bump into any pirates in the med.

Nearly everyone has had a very tough 18 months.
Some people will have lost family members and friends. Likely not been able to give them a proper send off.
Many people have lost jobs and businesses. Years and years of hard work and sacrifice for it all to fall apart.
Life has been turned completely upside down, and only now are we starting to see real light at the end of the tunnel.
So if someone wants to go and lie on a beach in Greece or Spain, and perhaps try and enjoy life as much as possible for a week or 2, I don't consider that selfish in the slightest.
I actually think it's quite crass to suggest otherwise, and this faux moral highground that some 'staycationers' seem to have is very unnecessary.

there is no moral high ground just a failure by me to understand the motives of people going.
yes i amBlaming people for something that hasn't even happened yet, nice.
The case rates across Europe are tiny in many destinations compared to the UK right now.
Some Greek islands are barely recording 1 case a day.
Do you show this much disdain to people travelling around the UK, eating and drinking in bars and restaurants?
Cos at the moment we're doing a damn good job of spreading it amongst ourselves, I trust you are consistent and equally resentful of them right now?
We've got a new Victor in the thread.
Merry Christmas.
