Covid and travel discussion

Hang on. I've just watched the news, so I don't have to quarantine bit I still have to pay for two test on my return. So nothings changed really and I still have to pay another £200+ on top of the holiday

Yep, the additional £200 and the stress of getting the outbound result in time remains the same. Just no quarantine.

Cheers, not been Spain for years, may end up going there. Would just be nice to pick somewhere a bit different or without the crowds.

I am off to Majorca and a lat flow test for the return is about €25 and PCR day 2 is down to about £30 in the uk makes it a bit better on the wallet. I am out there cycling so heat exhaustion will probably get me before Covid does. Oh and if you want quietish I recommend Puerto Pollensa on the north east of the Island

Pollensa is beautiful. If you are cycling, try Tollos opposite the marina.

All the cyclists get their drink and refuel in there.

Many a good night in there!

I’m off to Valencia next week. I’m double jabbed so it will be €25 for a local antigen test before I fly home and then £43 (Randox) for a day 2 PCR back in the UK so roughly £65 total, not great but not £200. You don’t have to do the day 8 test so only one needed when you get back.

Yeah its only really £200 if you still need to do a PCR in the UK before you travel, and most places seem to be accepting fully vaccinated people without testing.

Can all change though ;)

I’ve chatted with Wiggo in there! Pity Tolo sold it off it’s not quite been the same since but it’s still decent food and coffee, we spend most days killing ourselves in the Serra de Tramuntana and usually get back for beers late afternoon so don’t see much of the day time happenings but early evening around the pines is just one of life’s pleasures.

My fave eating place is Na Ruxia when you hear the circular saw going you know the T-Bone is getting ready for the grill and the bottle of whiskey liquor left on the table after the meal is always an added bonus.
