Hang on. I've just watched the news, so I don't have to quarantine bit I still have to pay for two test on my return. So nothings changed really and I still have to pay another £200+ on top of the holiday
Spain are definitely letting in.
Yep, the additional £200 and the stress of getting the outbound result in time remains the same. Just no quarantine.
Cheers, not been Spain for years, may end up going there. Would just be nice to pick somewhere a bit different or without the crowds.
I am off to Majorca and a lat flow test for the return is about €25 and PCR day 2 is down to about £30 in the uk makes it a bit better on the wallet. I am out there cycling so heat exhaustion will probably get me before Covid does. Oh and if you want quietish I recommend Puerto Pollensa on the north east of the Island

Pollensa is beautiful. If you are cycling, try Tollos opposite the marina.
All the cyclists get their drink and refuel in there.
Many a good night in there!

I’m off to Valencia next week. I’m double jabbed so it will be €25 for a local antigen test before I fly home and then £43 (Randox) for a day 2 PCR back in the UK so roughly £65 total, not great but not £200. You don’t have to do the day 8 test so only one needed when you get back.
And pray you don’t test positive abroad.
That's interesting I'm happy with that, I need to research it a bit more. Once Tenerife get their act together I'm booking a flight and off I go. I've done two four day breaks in this country and had one day of intermittent sunshine in that time. Bloody miserable I can't wait to get the hell out of here
Went to Pollensa in 1970. Just about remember watching the World Cup in the hotel bar and falling in love with a girl called Becky. I was 6.Pollensa is beautiful. If you are cycling, try Tollos opposite the marina.

Oh don’t get me wrong pal, I’d rather isolate over there but lots can’t afford the time off work etc plus the huge cost.I’m visiting my parents that I’ve not seen for a year so a few days extra out there sunning myself wouldn’t bother me in the slightest!
So what is the scenario with a positive test abroad. Do the tour operators quarantine you to barracks or are you transferred off to a medical facility. What to do what to do!!!!
the lure of skiathos in aug, a icy pint of mithos , some beautiful greek food, the sound of crickets chirping as you walk out in the warm evening..
… but testing positive whilst out there and being fucking stuck!!! Aaaggghhhh

A remote chance of a positive test but nice to hear that Iberostar will lay on the treatment for it's guests. Tui will take care of the bill for it's package clients and fly you home, but as mentioned I just wondered on the protocol for quarantine. A medical facility would be dreadful as would a hotel room without a balcony. You have to follow the local health regulations, which will often be dedicated quarantine hotels or government approved facilities.
Some hotels may have dedicated rooms on site, if you're lucky enough to be staying in one and unlucky enough to test positive.
The hotel chain Iberostar have a very good arrangement in that respect, and will seemingly look after you very well should the worst happen (dedicated rooms with views and outdoor space, 10 days free stay, tailored room service menu, medical care etc)
In terms of getting home after getting released, I think it's then an insurance job; I don't think tour ops have any liability to get you back, but they might work on a case by case or discretionary basis.

Planning on August but watching the development of Delta closely.
