For many it won't be, for some it will be.

I think circumstances (work, family, responsibilities etc) will dictate the level of acceptable risk for the majority, but I'd say for the average person it's probably in their mindset that it's not worth the risk.

Also will depend on where you're thinking of going; if it's a Greek Island recording barely a case a day (like Kos at the moment) then you might think fuck it, lets go.....however if its Majorca where cases are already rising sharply then it could cause people to reconsider.

im self emp. Being stuck out there for 10 extra days isnt an option. Plus i have a 8 and 6 year old. Hell on earth being stuck in with them

Cheers! Pretty much confirms what I had read elsewhere, can either pay for a test over here before departure and upload it onto their app or turn up and get tested for free on arrival.

We’re staying in Ponta do Sol, neither of us have never been before so any recommendations appreciated!

It's a beautiful island.

I stayed near the lido area, about 30 minute walk out of Funchal, your area isn't a part of the island I'm familiar with tbh.

Best advice I can give is go easy on their local beer, Coral.....fuck me it was a banging hangover on my 2nd morning (I had to isolate in my hotel room for the first night awaiting my test result).

Lots of things like hiking trails, nature walks etc, so you can be active or just chill out.

Weather should be really good this time of year, enjoy!

Thanks mate, I didn’t know about that last bit about testing in Madeira before returning, thought it was just you come back to the UK and get tested. Will have to read up on it more!

If you are double jabbed you don't need any test to enter Madeira, You can get the Antigen you need to leave Madeira free through the 'Madeira Safe app'.

I'm booked to go on the 23rd July, staying in Funchal. Looking forward to it.

I guess you're way more likely to catch Covid in England than Skiathos, but if you catch it here at least you can isolate at home.

Reading between the lines I think you can probably tell it's a non-starter? Tough one though....think of the Mythos and gyros ;)

For a family of 4 it still costs approx £1200 in PCR tests ( 4 tests for each person!!) to holiday in the Algarve.

How are you getting 1200? Depending on kids ages you can do it for a quarter of that price.

Go for it mate, go and enjoy yourself. Don’t worry too much about something that might not even happen.
